I want to paint a wizard with grey robes, but I want to avoid the metallic look that grey paint has.
Is there anyway to reduce its reflective and shiny look?

Little unsure what you mean, do you mean the grey paints you have end up glossy, or that the way you paint the highlights makes it look metallic?

They end up glossy and reflective, they catch the light like metal. I want to get a real cloth like feel.

Thats tricky, you could try mixing your own with white and black and watering it a little when adding layers to give it a more powdery finish, but if all the paints end with a slight gloss, the only thing I can think of is adding a matte varnish afterwards maybe?

Do you have examples of what you call "glossy" grey cloth?

Grey paint doesn't look metallic as is. Do you mean the stark highlighting, or metallic paints in general?
