Don't know if this is the right forum but it wasn't particulary rules anyways lets get on with it.
It occured to me that during a game a model was in a 3 level ruin(2nd floor) needing to see a Daemon Prince but we couldn't properly get our head to the right position because of the terrain. Now the DP was covered by a LR and depending on the left or right view of the building you could or could not see the DP with the LF. So a ingenious solution was to use a cell phone camera zoomed in and put right infront of the model and taking a picture. This allowed use to create an almost perfect if not better LOS view usuing the camera and picture, with the results being that we could see the DP arm. This was only plausible with use of the Phone camera.

So I was wondering if people have done the same, and to let people know about the wonderful and simplistic solution to tough LOS problems.

P.S in a hurry to time to spell check, sorry.

Small 5 buck laser pointer does the same thing.

The camera is an interesting idea, I'll have to try it sometime when my opponent doesn't believe the laser pointer.

How would a photo convince someone who believes you can bend light?

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

When people ask, "What's the point in understanding everything?" they've just disqualified themselves from using questions and should disappear in a puff of paradox. But they don't understand and just continue existing, which are also their only two strategies for life.

Gravity bends light. Maybe his opponent thought he had a miniature black hole in his pocket.

But if you can bend light, can't you distort the picture to make the Daemon Prince seem within LOS?

If you can bend light, I'll just give you the benefit of the doubt on the LOS.

lol, on disagreements what we do is roll a dice...since the game is all about dice outcomes. So lets say i'm the shooter nd say i have LOS he is the defender nd says no way, we both check and it's tricky. we say okay on a 4+ roll i get my LOS on a 3- roll he gets a save, so it's 50/50 and let the dice gods prevail

Laser pointer. An elegant and impartial solution, unless chaos is there of course...

I like to imagine the Emperor kills so many Orks that he ends up half buried beneath a pile of corpses, with only his head sticking out. A lone grot stumbles across him, and starts choking him.

Then Horus comes across the lone grot, somehow managing to kill the Emperor, and punts it into space.

Anybody ever seen wargaming periscopes? I recall coming across a tutorial for building one some time ago - just a simple box with an open top/bottom-front and internal mirrors that let you get a model's eye view by looking down at the top. Less than useful for anything that isn't open ground, but it was an interesting gadget.

More practically, I keep a laser pointer around. A actually found mine in those racks of crap at the checkout line when buying groceries. It's a combo flashlight/laser pointer that came with a second set of batteries and it only cost a couple of bucks. I think I paid less than I would have for that number of batteries, if I bought name-brand.

Another easy trick is to literally measure from head to enemy and if you're can touch both models, you have LOS

Ummm...why would they believe the camera, but not the laser pointer??

We don't use laser pointers or cameras. A simple die roll suffices.
