Hi Everyone,
I'm new to all this WIP log, but I am excited as I believe the more we share the better we become.

Conceptualize

The idea was to have fight scene taking place in an underground chamber. The room is dedicated to the web of chaos and symbolizes Tzeentch main tenants’ cause and effect..

The chaos space marine is a Oracle of Change Chaos Lord. He is in the process of convening with the Lord of Change. He has in his possession a demonic lance the “Black Widows Fang”

On the floor is a brave X chapter scout who stumbled into the wrong room. Stood his ground and had a chain sword broken against the lance. He reaches for the other sword and gets speared through his back by the hungry fangs of the lance.

I had an idea one day to take a 40k Chaos lord (40kCSMLord2002) and remodel him I didn’t like him holding a Space Marine helmet.
So I cut of his arm and twisted it to point down. I shaved the helmet out of his hand and put a spear in it instead. Since the angle was pointing down I thought I could position him on a cliff side spearing a space marine through the back. ( see image Oracle of Change Chaos Lord -Cliff 1 & 2)

You’ll have to forgive me as I said this is all new to me. It has since evolved as most projects do. I removed him from the cliff top and changed the backdrop to a underground web of chaos chamber that an unfortunate scout stumbles into and is unable to escape.

The floor is made from clay and it has a web patterns etched into it culminating at the source which was an altar. I then added fine gauge chain into the groves to give it more texture. It was nice the glue ended up drying in such a manner that it looks like a web link at each connection.

This just keeps getting better and better, although there seems to be very little on the base. Can i suggest making a wall around some of it to show that it is an underground chamber and not just an alter on a hill? Also you should probably add some more ruins and rocks scattered around. Otherwise, its looking great. Can we get a close up of the alter?

Thanks for the suggestion I have added 2 walls - one back wall to help contrast the scene and a set of stairs with a doorway

One wall on the far side with a portal on it. It currently has a ring to show the outline of the portal and with it i have etched the 8 point chaos star. Beside the portal i have 2 scones that are linked with a chain- at the center of the chain is another 8 point star on which i have glued a head to represent the chaos god manifest. I will take another pic for you of the altar.

I am thinking of replacing the altar alttogether and moving the portal to the center of the web ?

Here is a pic of the scones with the chaos star

I have also replaced his CSM head with a smaller version that suits the whole spider theme. its a bald head with a bandana wraped across his eyes.

Looking good!

Imperial guard: Because quantity has a quality of it's own.

Sisters of Battle can be used in any game, with the exception of chess, Monopoly and of course, Warhammer 40,000.

After 8 editions, you might have thought that GW could get fantasy right.

I think the walls work well and you can see better that it is underground and the change of head does work well. However can you explain to me how the weapon works? Is it some sort of oversized morning-star?

The idea behind the weapon was for it to be a massive black widow spider, at the tip I wanted a harpoon type fang. The red line going thru the middle of the shaft was to represent the blood channel from the mouth of the spider to the harpoon fang. I made the spider with green stuff and fish hooks. I dont know if you can tell but all the legs are the tips of fish hooks. I wanted it to look like if you touched this thing your asking to be hurt.
