Here is a list I used last night. I was able to flank and table the tyranids by turn 3, well effectively disable them by turn 3. Had some amzing lightening in the first turn, which definitely helped seal the W... but the two Lychguard units... took 1 casualty all game.

Thoughts?

Stormlord Imhotek
Cryptek - Despair, Veil of Darkness
Cryptek - Aeonstave, Chronometron
5 Lychguard - Dispersion Shields & Hyperphase Swords

Anrakyr the Traveler
Cryptek - Despair, Veil of Darkness
Cryptek - Aeonstave, Chronometron
5 Lychguard - Dispersion Shields & Hyperphase Swords

5 Warriors - Cryptek - Destruction, Solar Pulse
5 Warriors
5 Warriors

6 Scarabs
6 Scarabs

Annihilation Barge
Annihilation Barge
Annihilation Barge

1,750 Points - 3 Scoring - 12KP

It's a risky list - dual deathstars... almost 500 points each, in a 1750... but with the ability to teleport around they are always in the right position, plus night fighting helps to mitigate the fire power me entire army is facing so it seemed to work. Gunna play it a few more times to see if I can fine tune a Elite based Necron army.

When taking Scarabs you need to back them up with Spyders, otherwise they die too fast and don't get enough bases to get enough attacks to do any real damage. I'd probably drop them and take Wraiths instead.

Those lychguard "deathstars" are hardly deathstars at all. Without a rez orb in that unit they will just die. Also 5 guard will not dish out enough punishment to be a deathstar.

Also your warrior squads are too small. It would be too easy to concentrate fire on them and knock them all down - then their RP is useless. With only those three relatively vulnerable troop choices, you could have trouble with objective missions. It's probably safer to do two 10 man warrior squads and drop something else to pay for it.

I have used this list 3 times since posting this and have won each time. I did do some changing of the list. I dropped one Annihilation Barge and a Scarab and Picked up Two Spyders. This has really seemed to boost my Scarabs and also having two monstrous creature roaming around my backfield is a good bit of security as well. I'm amazed at how much these Lychguard units can handle.

I do not expect this list to do well as time goes on, because my enemies are making adjustments right now to try and destroy it, but I do hope I can carve a tournament quality list from these trails. We'll find out in a couple weeks.

Also, remember that solar pulses and the Stormlord don't really mix...one or the other.

Actually, I like the list a lot. Nice synergy with Imo and you have Anraky and scarabs for AT.

I've also found lychguard to be really resilient and with the despair crypteks you get some shooting vs squishy stuff when you VoD.

The comments re warriors are valid, but that's a risk I'd take. Course, have a squad in reserve to take the nearest objective.

The changes to drop a barge and add a couple of spyders would just pump up the threat a bit more!

I'm planning to get another box of Lychguard cos I need to kit bash some more Crypteks, but can't decide whether to build LG with S&B or the Praetorians with VB&PC. Might try the Praetorians this time, cos with the VB&PC they'll get the extra attack and they are a bit more mobile than the LG (without veil). Course, I'll probably attach crypteks to that unit as well so...back to LG!

I disagree with this. Imo's NF last 3 to 4 turns, having to Pulse in your back pocket for turn 5 is never a bad thing.

Overall, I like the list as well. The troops is a slight concern, as others have mentioned, but in my experience in Imo lists is if you provide enough high priority targets people tend to ignore (or not be able to see) your troops until the game reaches the point where they simply don't have the firepower to bring them down.

Personally I run mine as 15, 5, 5, but I use the 15 for Imo. Obviously your putting him with the LG for a strong resiliency boost (and slight offensive boost).

I think you are severely underestimating how much the HQ's, Chrono's and AP 1 Templates (and Aeon staff what/what?!?! /fist-pump ) are adding to both the offensive and defensive capabilities off these units. That being said, he may wanna consider swapping the second chrono (with Anrakryr's group) for a Res Orb lord, if he can find the points.
