So as the title suggests I'm wondering how crons deal with large numbers of tanks. So what units apart from the CCB (as I already know that's fills a role) can deal with large numbers of tanks?

But how would you get those warsythes across the boards or do enough damage with scarabs if you don't plan to do a farm like me?

Two Harbingers of Destruction in each of your troop choices (36" is a long way). O'lords with warscythes in barges. 2 solar pulses to keep their tanks off your troops and to let the barge get close.

Barges can flat out 24" and still be able to use the Sweep Attack. I've also seen Imotekh's lightning with Chronos go to good use.

The Death Ray can very quickly turn parking lots into molten slag. Lanceteks can be threaded throughout Troop choices to give you multiple units with anti-tank ability. Tesla Destructors (on Scythes) can very quickly get to side or rear armour and let rip. Wraiths with S6 and rending can very quickly deal with a vehicle that moved 6" or less. Scarabs will also make it easier for your lower S weapons. The properties of Gauss also means if you bring enough of them you can glance a vehicle to death. Not efficient, but it can work as a last resort.

Pretty much this. Heavy Destroyers paired with Stalkers can make short work of the heaviest of hulls as well.

Personally, I put the warscythes in CCB. I'm assuming you are talking 2000pts and by tanks you are talking AV12+?
So at 2000pts, I usually take a unit of lychguard with S&B and drop an orb lord with scythe (plus a veiltek). If I have my Zhandrek and Obyron combo, I'll put them in the lychguard, drop the orb but keep the scythe, then add a StormTek. Then I drop that unit into the backfield. In the turn it arrives I generally weather the shooting (and if it arrives close enough you may get a bonus deflection shot!) then get stuck in with the scythes, StormTek etc. If there are contents in the tanks that try and tie up this unit, I just ghost walk mantle out of combat to the other side of the parking lot and repeat.
Because I don't have spyders or wraiths, I take 2 x 6 scarab bases - I find that between the CCBs, the lychguard and the rest of the army I can move the scarabs up fast enough with acceptable losses. Depends on the amount of cover. Add lanceteks and I'm pretty happy with my AT capability.
AV11 and under is easier, cos I'm happy to glance to immobilise or destroy weapons.

Anti-tank is NOT something Necrons particularly need to worry about. Our basic troop choice can wreck a Land Raider - just put out more Gauss fire. We can spam Monstrous Creatures, we can spam Warscythes, we can spam Entropic Strike. Then we've got a nice selection of high Strength AP 1 weapons (Tachyon Arrow, Doomsday Cannon, Death Ray, Heat Ray). We've got Eldritch Lance Crypteks that are fairly cheap and have a good shot at taking out anything AV 12 or less, as well as Harbingers of the Storm which get Haywire Grenades with a 12" range. AND if you really want to put on your troll face, take Imotekh or Anrakyr - Anrakyr in particular treats vehicles as speed bumps. If that's not enough anti-tank for you, I don't know what is. Seriously, half of our codex is dedicated to wrecking vehicles.
