Planning on running a normal ish footcrons list with warriors, but since ive only just taken up crons the crypteks have really stood out.
The wargear they can take is great, but i want to try and run them with some order and effectiveness.

Now, i will be running 2 overlords so 2 courts are available.

I was thinking about something along the lines of this:

Despairtek: veil.
Stormtek: voltaic staff, lightning field.
8 Necron warriors.
Points: 199

Destructek: pulse, lance.
Transmogtek: harp.

Points: 209

816 total points.

Side notes: I will be running the stormlord, so lights on, lights off will be in effect.
Ill also be running 2 lith's so i can drag units back as and when needed.

The 1st 2 units simply veil in behind armour and haywire it / gauss it.
The 2nd 2 units sit back and use the harps to drop AV and then lances to damage while playing with the lights as needed.

All in all, it seems a bit over the top, but amusing none the less that crypteks can add so much to the necron army.
However, if this viable or as i just wasting alot of points?
Or am i simply better off going with tremmor staves, orikan and a worldscape c'tan?

It just seems like too much trying to happen at once, here.
If you want to try making a truly "Swiss Army knife", try switching those Warriors with the Veil & Storm-teks out for Deathmarks. (that way they'll be able to seriously threaten literally anything... still not the best tactic, but better than mere Warriors).

Also, using Solar Pulses to cancel out Imotekh's night fight is a very ineffective use of points (and it is generally not such a good idea to take him if you're planning on going "shooty" anyway).

What points level are you looking at? 1500, 1750, 1850, 2000? How much room (in terms of points) do we have to work with here?

My personal opinions (and they ARE opinions):
-Destructeks are wasted in an Imotekh list. You'll almost never get full range and the pulse is redundant. That's 110 points that could be going into other stuff. My suggestion would be to get a couple of Eternityteks to get re-rolls for Imotekh.
-One of the big things to remember in an Imotekh list is that you're limiting your own shooting. Average Night-Fight roll is something like 21", so anything over 24" is going to have problems with range. You'll need to get up close and personal. Ghost Arks are a great delivery system for warrior squads with Crypteks. Put Imotekh in an Ark with Warriors and two Eternityteks - between the AV13, Orb, and re-rolls he will be bloody hard to kill - or rather, keep dead.
-It looks like you're treating your first two squads as suicide squads, so I'm not sure why they've got more than the minimum number of Warriors in them.
