Hi all, just tried this out, I'm not completely happy with it, so any opinions on how to improve it?

I can see what you were going for, but I just don't think that style of light reflection works on 3D models.
Good effort though and I commend you for trying something new!

I really like the blue color on the miniature! However, OSL needs to have a smooth gradient between colors to make it look correct. Remember, the goal is give the illusion of real light falling on the objects in question. The part that throws if off really is the wall behind the light. I think the color on the mini and even the floor is much better. Keep up the good work!

I'm not an OSL Expert but the different shades are outlined too well, but I do like the OSL on the stealth suit!
Great job for trying something new though!

Guilliman and the Ultramarines are like Manchester United, everyone hates them because they are so awesome!

The wall is too dramatic in value change. The actual light looks..white not light. The model and floor look great though! Great effort keep at it and you will nail it.

It's a good start, but the gradient between light and dark needs to be much smoother, you shouldn't be able to see a distinct line between the shades. Parts of the Stealth Suit, such as along the Burst Cannon are much better done than areas such as his helmet, where it just looks like a hastily done blob of light. The line along the cannon can be a lot smoother, but you're getting there.

right, like what the others said
All the blue looks good, a little uneven/stepped, but good
but the white is way too big, and way too much, remember the light itself needs to be about 2x brighter than what you are showing on the model, so in this case you'd want like a little spec of white at the most.

I like it, it doesn't look realistically OSL shaded but instead it looks cell shaded like a cartoon and works pretty well. Good job
