A friend of mind has told me about a rumor that asssualt and combat will be better and more tactical, this may advantage the Tyrinids he concluded.
If this is true will it over power the nids?

This is insubstantial and pointless.
Nids don't have issues in combat. In fact nod players often use conga lines to avoid attacking full force so the combat lasts a turn.
It's vehicles they have trouble with.

The tide is coming

Agreed, but this rumor could mean an increase in all races' combat abilities and potential a further decrease for the tau.

A friend of mine told me to ignore rumor threads until the edition comes out. Turns out to be true!

Thank you!

If you don't have anything better than to wonder what's going to happen, just don't bother posting at all. We have three weeks until its released, learn patience, because these threads only set up your inevitable disappointment with tue new rules, having not been at all what you wanted.

True. Eric Cantina once stated. "Dreams are better than reality"
But this isn't for wondering what will happen but for discusion on what might be a result of these rumored new rulls if they are true so no-one should really get their hopes up. Just saying.

Oh. Oh no! Not the Tau! Wait, they're one of the shootiest armies in 40k, so getting them into CC is a death sentence anyway.

Yes but who said it wasn't fun to watch them crash and burn in combat. Besides personally I would like to see them do well in cc for once, you know.

Tau are far away from the shipboard army. They are an army that shoots, and then they decided to take away all CC ability to make them focus on shooting.

But yeah, we all know that it's all speculation and guess work. But why try and kill people's fun. I personally want to know what 6th Ed rumors are saying because my army is about to be too many editions behind for me to take interest in them if there isn't a glimmer of hope that they will be able to stand on the table for more than a round.

I'm expecting an Imperial Knights supplement dedicated to GW's loyalist apologetics. Codex: White Knights "In the grim dark future, everything is fine."

"The argument is that we have to do this or we will, bit by bit,
lose everything that we hold dear, everything that keeps the business going. Our crops will wither, our children will die piteous
deaths and the sun will be swept from the sky."

I take it you play Tau then. If so then don't worry about being behind. The tau are definitly due for a codex update and they are a good army, but you should already know that. Their like guard, shoot to kill and stick together. Put some Kroot in front of the FW and use them as meat sheild. Do you have Tanks?

I've heard a couple of rumours myself. Apparently they're bringing in charge reactions such as stand and shoot when you are charged. Also I've heard that they're changing the wound allocation to the models in the unit closest to the firing unit will be the first to take wounds. If these are true, Tau will gain a bit more of an advantage.

“Because we couldn’t be trusted. The Emperor needed a weapon that would never obey its own desires before those of the Imperium. He needed a weapon that would never bite the hand that feeds. The World Eaters were not that weapon. We’ve all drawn blades purely for the sake of shedding blood, and we’ve all felt the exultation of winning a war that never even needed to happen. We are not the tame, reliable pets that the Emperor wanted. The Wolves obey, when we would not. The Wolves can be trusted, when we never could. They have a discipline we lack, because their passions are not aflame with the Butcher’s Nails buzzing in the back of their skulls.
The Wolves will always come to heel when called. In that regard, it is a mystery why they name themselves wolves. They are tame, collared by the Emperor, obeying his every whim. But a wolf doesn’t behave that way. Only a dog does.
That is why we are the Eaters of Worlds, and the War Hounds no longer."
