Alright, I've always wanted to use the Predator models floating around out there (particuarly from Copplestone, Predastore and heresy) as some kind of army in a game. Skirmish games always felt better with the small amount of models out there, but I never played skirmish games - until now. However, I'm having a hard time figuring out what army to use as proxy, since I mostly just know Haqqislam.

My first thought was Combined Army, but this is an oddity since it uses very, very wildly different stuff, even if it is very elite, with some very large models. My second though was Aleph, which seems to work better - normal sized models, some good at shooting, some close combat, small numbers of models and very elite. The main issue is netrods for orders, but I could easily do up some Predators-esque totems for those.

Anyone got any other suggestions?

Depends whether or not you want "hard to see" vs Invisible as to what units to use in Aleph for them.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

I think it's a really cool idea, I've thought of doing the same thing before. Did you mean using this mini from Hasslefree?

You could use these rules that IJW has helpfully hosted on his website, from the old Bibliotek Infinity magazine:

http://wargamingtrader.com/files/downloads/BibliotekFiles01_Eng.pdf

I think you could use the basic rules from the book (remember distances in it are in CM), but you could always pit the Predator against some basic line infantry? I think that would fit the theme better, rather than the alien getting its ass handed to it by laser-guided missiles and viral sniper rifles.

Not really trying to play up the cloaking device, as a bunch of TO camo'd killing machines each carrying an arsenal of death would be a tad unpleasant to play against. Mostly just looking for what faction offers good parralels in terms of good, tough, hard hitting guys on small bases.

He's from Heresy And yeah, I meant about using him, also these.

Basically, that guy, and these two, would be what I use as any heavy infantry (since they're hugely detailed and will likely be centerpeice models).
Spoiler:

Then these as regular infantry (they're a bit less detailed, and good for 'line infantry').
Spoiler:

Predastore have another couple they have in stock sometimes that I'd like to get as well, these guys.
Spoiler:

Basically, there's a nice variety of Predator models out there now. Some are terrible, but Copplestones and Predastores are fantastic. I want to buy them, but I really only buy models when I have a way to use them. Infinity seems like a good fit for an 'alien headhunter cadre'. But I don't know enough about what faction would be a good fit - as I said, the best I could think of was Aleph, with it's abundance of elite and specially trained ranged troops.

I think you might want to look into MAF (morat Aggression Force, a Combined sectorial). They have several ranged specialists, a warband of close combat specialists, and a few really elite man-sized models. They also eschew some of the larger CA stuff you were worried about.

Awesome, I'll look into that.

There's a few Morat with mimetisim. Bu some Shasvastii could work as well. Most of them have some form of camo.
