I've been running my Dark Eldar fairly successfully....the most serious challenge I face is in Annihilation games, as I put a lot of kill points out on the field.

My typical 1850 point army involves multiple units of wyches/haemonculi in Raiders, supported by 5 man warrior squads with blasters in Venoms. I also usually run with the Duke or a tricked out Archon with Huskblade and soul trap. For support, I typically use 2 Ravagers and a Razorwing, a squad of Incubi in a Raider, and 2 3-man Reaver squads.

I've got a number of different models, so it's not a problem to change up. If you were playing Space Marines in a Kill Point game - what would your strategy be?

I play DE , and all my friends I play with, use SM types(Pretty lame , Im the only xenos:C).

You have the right idea, all you need to do it hug cover/target priority.

Take out the tanks and supress the heavy infantry/dangerous targets first.

When every tank is broken/dead, hit the infantry with everything.

Hug cover, Assault them, harass slow units; everything.

Then laugh as your opponent smashes his Grey Knights in blind fury.

PM me if you want me to draw anything related to Warhmmer 40k. I will put it in my gallery for all to see.

Incubi are your best friends against SM

If you run everything mechanized, going all-reserve can help. Shaving off a few turns keeps your glass cannons alive longer, and let's you deploy reactively to use your superior range.

Generally, I start off the game thinking that if they're fairly fragile (not too many land raiders, mostly rhinos razorbacks and inf), I'll simply say that I'm going to wipe them out. About 3/4 of the time it works (though you need a good list for this). However, if it's a full-on competitive list, simply hide behind terrain, using dark lances to snipe out at anything that could hurt you. Then when their transports are gone, if there's plenty of time left in the game, turbo-boost with all your inf squads. The transports get shot down (about 4 kill points), and you jump out and kill all their inf (about 3 or 4 kill points). Just don't do this against Hammernaters.

Unfortunately with my TAC list I end up hiding my wyches often times during Annihilation scenarios. Unless I can get a good multi charge, a solid shooting army will vaporize my girls before they pick up another KP to balance things out. They then, sadly, either manage objectives or start picking off depleated squads late game rather than being used for alpha-strike panic inducers early game.

6th edition lands on June 23rd!

Good news. This is the best time in the hobby. Full of promise. GW lets us down each time and we know it but secretly we're hoping that this is the edition that GW gives us a balanced game that can also be played competitively at tournaments. I'm loving it.

Sounds like my general strategy would still hold. Hug cover, pick off tanks, isolate and swarm wherever possible.

I just have a lot of kill points on the table, and had considered whether a different army style might be good if I knew Annihilation was the game....perhaps 20 unit DE Squads of Wyches and Warriors on foot,..the Warriors in cover and the wyches coming out of webway portals.

I've seen some Footdar lists that looked interesting...but I'm so comfortable with my normal units that I'll probably just keep that style going. Every time I use webways, the units with them get shot down or isolated first turn, and I give up easy kill points anyway.

I might end up giving the Haemonculi Hexrifles and drop them in cover in Turn 1. That will give the wyches the pain token, but allow me to hide the haemonculi and still maybe do something useful.

Thanks for the feedback.
