Straken's pretty awesome too. Although for some reason a ton of IG Commanders are dragging regular rank-and-file troops halfway across continents...

IG is always going to suffer in the hero department in that respect. It's easy (ish) to imagine a Space Marine Commander, or great Eldar Farseer, leading a small amount of troops into battle as part of some spearhead or other, but Imperial Guard generals are the commanders of thousands/millions of men, and are basically just men themselves. There's no logical reason for CCSs to have 3 wounds, for example.

Didn't that thread end with the conclusion that you do not get another Celestine as she wasn't removed from play by an "attack"?

I dunno, I gave up on it halfway through. Most YMDC threads go downhill after the first page or two. If it hasn't been resolved by then, it just gets ugly.

'Course there'd also need to be a Jurgen model.

Then we'd need plastic Valhallans some of which would be *GASP* female!

Id simply cut off some battle sister heads and slap those on. since those guard uniforms make it impossible to distinguish between male and female from a distance anyways

There used to be a couple of kits some years ago that actually had a few female guard models in them. but sadly those have long since vanished.

and yes we'd definately need a jurgen model too. though a regulair melta toting guard model would suffice in a pinch

My favorite HQs always have some high-risk thing they can do that is awesome. For example, cato sicarius can forgo his regular attack and do a single death blow, and a chaos sorcerer with gifts will possibly kill himself, and possibly remove a model of your choice (that isn't kharn) from play, or kharn, who maybe kills everything of your opponent, and maybe kills everything of yours. Likewise, guard eviscerator priest run the gambit between dying horribly and blowing up a land raider with contemptuous ease.

Of course, "favorite" and "best" are often dissimilar...
