Hi guys,

Here is the idea: I want to end up with 9 kans, 3 with grotzookas and 6 with rokkits, as well as two deff dreads with 4 dccw each. I have two dread kits and 3 of the kans boxes. I was wondering if anyone has used the rokkits from the dread successfully on a kan? I have magnetized the weapons arms on the 3 kans I have built and this works well and I want to do the same for the lower arms on the dread so I can attach something other than dccws if I want. It looks like one of the rokkit launchers will have to be upside down on the kans though (all the weapons on the kans will be on the right to ensure maximum swapability, but it looks like one of the rokkits on a dread only comes with a mount that fits left.) Any ideas how to resolve this?

I hope this makes sense and thanks for your help in advance.

Ye i did that, im not modelling expert, so i just hacked off the big shoota end gun bit and whacked the rokkit onto the end, looked alright. What your doing sounds different though. Personally i would do what i did, as your unlikely "if ever" to use big shootas on kans

if its rokkits you are looking for, I ended up with a bunch when coverting Deffbikes from deffcoptas, use some plasticard to house the rokkit and it whould look fine.

You could make some 'old skool' kanz using the deffdread weapons (with 1 arm and the gun stuck on the side).

Assemble the rokkits as per the Deffdread method, as the little mushroom-shaped thing that attaches them to the deffdread arm socket is the same size as the killa kan arm socket

BTW, the rokkits won't be upside-down, the assembly lets you use the aforementioned mushroom-shaped things to attach guns to the left and right side of the deffdread.

One rokkit in the box has a slot for the mushroom thing (official terminology now) to attach on the left and the other on the right I think. I will check but I'm pretty sure. I cut do some cutting and glueing to make it fit onto the other side of the weapon I suppose but this may look rubbish.

That makes sense but I still want to keep the options for the shootas. Just in case. That's why I'm using the magnets.

I prefer to glue the arms on, and instead magnetise the "hands" to allow weapon swaps. A little conversion is necessary, but that's not difficult woth orks.

Just in case anyone else wonders about something similar:

The mushroom things fit on either side of the weapons so there are no upside down issues after all. (I was clearly just being thick) I have now magnetized everything at the shoulder, so with two dread boxes this means enough mushroom bits for 3 extra kans with rokkits, the option to have three kans with kustom mega blastas (in case there are a few extra points floating around. Unlikely but I like having the option) and two skorchas for the dreads so that you can have one with 4 dccws and one with 2 dccws and 2 scorchas or something inbetween. I think the old style kan look with a weapon without an arm on the side actually works quite well if you have 9 kans on the table. You can mix the different looks in each squadron, making things look less standardised and more orky. I'm going to try and stick my magnetized kan scorcher in the dread socket next (only just thought of this), to see if this works with the way I have poisitioned the magnets in the ball joints. If this works, then I can have both dreads with two scorchas. Luckily I haven't glued one of the scorcha mushrooms on yet. It might look odd with one scorcha being on an arm and the other stuck to the side though, although that is again more orky.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to reply.

Time for some krumpin!
