An easy question for you all: Someone in our local group has been playing plague marines with a 5+ Invulnerable Save. I looked all over the Codex and cannot find this ability listed. So, the question is as follows:

Do Plague Marines have an Invulnerable save?

No, they do have FnP though.

They will get their 3+ armor followed by a 4+ FnP save(but not against weapons that cause Instant Death or ignore armor saves)

If they do not have one listed on P.97 of the CSM codex (The wargear or Special Rules would have to have one listed), then they do not have one.

Check P.97 of the CSM codex.

Basically, no. There's not even anything that could be misconstrued as a 5+ invulnerable.
Unless there's something in an older codex I'm not aware of, he's probably made that up.

There is no way what-so-ever for plague marines to obtain a 5+ invul save outside of possible apoc rules or using team game rules.

You always reserve the right to ask a player to show them were in their codex they are getting the rule from.

Could it not just be that he is playing a Death Guard army in fluff terms, but has CSM units with marks of Tzeentch?

It could be legal, your best bet is to ask this person to explain why they have the 5+ invulnerable save.

Interceptor Drones can disembark at any point during the Sun Shark's move (even though models cannot normally disembark from Zooming Flyers).

Maybe someone got confused with plaguebearers.

Thank you all for your replies. As it turns out, the gentleman caught his own mistake. He sent me a Facebook message apologizing for having confused the Mark of Nurgle with the Mark of Tzeentch, which had become a combination of the two marks.

I was in no way upset. He is getting back into 40k after a bit of a break and trying to wrap his head around all the rules again. We were playing a friendly, and we all had fun. In the end, my Angels Sanguine came out on top. So, the mistake had minimal effect on the game.

Thanks again for your replies.

Sounds like a genuine mistake then. We may seem cynical on dakka but you'd be surprised how often and how blatently people cheat at 40k.

Some few cheat, but many also manage to make honest mistakes. Once you have five editions of the game in your head, coupled with 2-3 versions of the Codex you play rules might get a bit fuzzy. It's just a couple years since someone was about to use 3rd edition Rapid Fire, and guys are still getting confused on the Shooting From Transports change from 4th to 5th.

Good to see your issue was solved with no bad blood.
