Hi guys!

Some of you may have seen this one before as I done it a couple of years ago, but only got round to photographing it earlier today. I'm quite surprised with how it holds up today as I'd only been painting about a year at the time, and was one of my first display minis. Sure the brushwork could be neater, but i'm pleased that the character of the piece is still there. I still have a little chuckle when I see it.

I really could've done with a third lamp for this one too, as it would allow me to kill the soft shadows that are still there from my two main lamps, and It was really hard to get them even as unobtrusive as they are.

Anyway, enough rambling from me!

Once upon a time...

Despairing at Pinocchio's unruly behavior, Gepetto seeks the aid of some of self-help books in his quest for a well 'adjusted' son.

Though it seems Jiminy has been egging on the young lad to do over the old gaffer, and upon returning to his basement Gepetto is met with a face-full of flamer. Oh noes!

"The future's bright for this young lad", muses Jiminy...

Haha! That is most excellent.

How much of the lighting is "lighting" and how much is paintwork? Either way, excellent work and well composed with good humour

Thanks guys.

All of it is painted. The photograph was taken under flat lighting as per usual, and you can still see the soft shadows cast by my diffused lamps if you look carefully.

I never point torches at my osl pieces like some here do. If were the sort of person that points lights at minis to fake and enhance the effect after painting, it would have to have been placed where Jiminy's match is for it to cast shadows radially as per the painted ones. Obviously there isn't a light there.
