Why on earth are they playing wind instruments? They have no lungs or lips! Why do they not have drums? You could argue that it is because the armies they are resurrected from most likely played horns, yet Both Empire and Bretonnians (who are most logically the corpses that at least the Vampire Counts have resurrected) play drums! I could understand if maybe they played the Trombone (get it, bone?) for the wit and pun to go with it but no, they just play regular looking horns, some overly curly.

Thus, After having thus successively taken each member of the community in its powerful grasp and fashioned him at will, the supreme power then extends its arm over the whole community. It covers the surface of society with a network of small complicated rules, minute and uniform, through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate, to rise above the crowd. The will of man is not shattered, but softened, bent, and guided; men are seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting. Such a power does not destroy, but it prevents existence; it does not tyrannize, but it compresses, enervates, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, till each nation is reduced to nothing better than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd

The magic animating them probably also creates the sound of whatever music they marched to long ago.

Yeah it is magic.

For the TK they are going for the trumpet/bible/egyptian theme.

The VC are going for a big viking horn.

I agree it does not make any sence, but then, how do a Tomb King talk, he has no lungs. (Or he has but they are probably in a jarsomewhere.) How do the skeletons or statues comunicate, sign laguage? They are talking. Although I have no idea what knights used in the crusades (bretonias)

I've got a metal Skeleton Drummer. I'm not sure from what edition the model is from though. He looks Mongolian and is playing Skull drums.

Zombies have gong players. The gongs are made of faces stretched across round shields.

I guess the current Skeleton and Grave Guard horn players are fueled by the Winds of Undeath.

I found some old skeleton Drummers but they are not the Mongolian skull drummers, I was trying to find at least one of those but with no luck! I also made one using the skaven stormvermin musician drum, (Which is flesh stretched over the drum with the head hanging upside down) and then took the skeleton horn player's arm, wrapped it around the drum and called it good.

Knights IRL used flags as well as horns and drums to communicate. Flags were used during battle because it was noisy and hearing would be restricted by their helmets.

Undead are being controlled by the necromancers animating them, they don't need to communicate. Tomb Kings are a little diffferent, who knows what they do.

How do any Vampires in any fiction talk when they don't breathe?

Even better, if they DO use air to talk, why couldn't Angel give CPR in the end of Season 1 in Buffy?

Plot holes, simply put.

They always seem to come up when Vampires are concerned.

Unable to do CPR, unable to speak(at least normally), no bloodflow=no boners(suck it Edward, o wait... )

More like suck it every vampire since the 1970's. Or sooner, don't know when they started showing up in romance novels, only when Anne Rice showed up to ruin things.

I love bringing up the no sex thing for male vampires, cause girls are always like "What about if they had just fed?" and I get to tell them about how the digestive system and your esophagus don't work that way. Either that, or vampire guys have to wear a strap on. Not very sexy now, huh?

How can skeletons even move or stay together, they have no muscles or tendons!

I wonder just how much magic these poor vampires/necromancers have to keep chucking out to their minions
