Karen Huff Klein Bullying Video: Upsetting Footage Causes Community Outrage
Karen Huff Klein, a bus monitor for the Greece School District in Greece, N.Y., is receiving an outpouring of support after a ten-minute video of her enduring vicious bullying while watching over students on a bus ride home was uploaded to YouTube.

WARNING: The above video contains explicit language and may be upsetting.

After the footage surfaced, Reddit user razorsheldon posted a call to arms in support of the school official who was brought to tears by the group of children.

Now, as awful as this was, there was a silver lining in not only the universal condemnation of the actions of these kids, but also in a call for support for this poor woman. Her name is Karen Klein, and if you are so compelled, please feel free to reach out to offer support. She has been a widow for 17 years, has lived in the same town she grew up in and is about to have her 50th high school reunion in the same school district, and deserves so much better than the actions shown by those in this video. Let's show her that there are still good people out there...
In the disturbing video, the children can be heard yelling at Klein, calling her an "ugly fat ass" and telling the widow, "you don't have a family because they all killed themselves because they don't want to be near you."

Now, under pressure from the local community, the Greece School District and Greece Police Department are launching investigations into the incident, telling WHEC-TV that the children involved will "face disciplinary action."

The Reddit call to arms has generated many comments showing support, including one that summarized a local radio show's admiration at Klein's lack of response. The call to arms also included an email address in case users wanted to reach out to Klein.

Both the school district and local police have pledged to investigate and have already questioned 4 students
The student who recorded the incident has apologized, saying he feels very bad, and recorded the video as the result of peer pressure:
Karen, who has worked for the Greece school system for 23 years, has also received messages and letters from around the world, as well as several bouquets of flowers.

If anyone spoke to my gran like that, I'd hunt them down and flay them whilst dipping them, still living, in soy sauce.

If I were the parent of one of those kids, they would forever regret the day they opened their mouth to that woman in that way. It would probably go over the line of child abuse.

"Teens are the future of the world, I love them, Just not enough to teach highschool."
And i remember taking a bus to a class and we had a new busdriver(as in new to the job)
Everyone acted horrible, and the bus driver yelled and such, i remember a teacher on the bus just said "She is new, she thinks she is still in control"

Hope all kids involved in this have their name revealed on the internet. Not for other people to find where they live. For the fact someday if they ever apply for a job, hopefully a manager will search their names on the internet and will never be offered a good job. Hope it follows them the rest of their lives.

Update from CNN:

The granny, Karen Klein, now has over half a million dollars donated and an airline have offered her and 9 guests an all expenses paid trip to disneyworld... and the kids are receiving death threats.

She has also refused to press charges against them, instead saying they should be banned from athletics.

Ok, stop there, thats enough. As someone who has seen more than a little bullying in my time, most of those kids were just going along with the flow, few are actually twisted.
That doesnt excuse them but people should realise that the howling for these kids blood, is just the same mentality that caused some of the quieter kids to join in with the loudmouth kids in abusing Ms Klein.

Yesterday on CCN one of the kids fathers said he regreted his sons actions and was disturbed by them. He also thought he kid shouldnt face anymore punishment since he has suffered enough because someone else posted his name and pic and he (the kid) was now being insulted and picked on.

They should make a film about this:

A group of kids develop an affection for their grandmotherly bus monitor who has led a sad life and finds herself aging without any real means of support.

Knowing how reactionary the internet is, they decide to bully her for a few days as a crazy plan to get her some money. But she can't know because it has to look real. Shocked that her beloved charges would turn on her so, the bus monitor eventually begins to cry. Meanwhile, one of the kids has been taping the whole thing.

The kids then leak the footage to reddit along with a call to arms. The vid shows an old lady that could be your grandma refusing to be mean back to kids being mean to her. The internet is aflame.

The news media picks up the story, a la Susan Boyle, and the public decides to shower the woman with money and prizes. Suddenly, the old lady who had never had any recognition in life has half a million dollars and can go to Disney World.

At the end of the movie, she realizes that the kids set it all up and she decides to take them to Disney World with her.

Among the millions of netizens getting all ragey over the story is a homicidal psychopath who decides to exact vengeance on the seemingly malicious children. He hunts them down one by one in a variety of convoluted scenarios, including flaying one alive and dipping him in soy sauce. The last child to die finally confronts his would-be murderer only to find that the psycho is -- gasp -- his own dad. (Both ideas from posts above.)

I am locking this because it is just an excuse to rage. There's already been more than enough calls to violence (yes, even one parent saying he might abuse his own children over this) and a nice pot shot at the American south. If all you want is to get your blood pressure up, there are plenty of other places to do it.
