Hey all, Just recently started looking at the Imperial Armor books, and really like the photo manipulation they use to give a gritty, semi-realistic appearance to their scenes.
Asked around, and found a few hints and tips and thought I might give it a try. Go easy on me, as these are my first attempts.
Here are my first two attempts. These two are from my very last "official" game of 5th Ed. Orks vs. SM.
Anyone else doing this? Post your work!

Looking good so far. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of my games otherwise I would give it a go myself.

I would like to but tbh I am useless at making tutorials and how I make my pictures is a really messy process. Lots of trial and error, experimenting going back to alter old layers, half the time I forget how I did something

If you want to try to make pictures like this, start by looking up photoshop tutorials and downloading some decent grunge and spatter brushes.

Don't let him fool you, that took quite a it more than some textures and brushes!
But in all honesty, it really is a lot of poking and prodding to get it how you want it.
That said, here is a very basic tutorial that got me started.

Very neat topic, I must say I'm also a big fan of FW images. Really makes the warhammer world seem more real. Good to see others aspiring to do the same
