I know we need to wait for Ally rules, but I just saw Kaptin Badrukk's pirate captain model in this month's White Dwarf and thought he was a really cool model. With the pirate theme of the Dark Eldar, I was wondering whether his rules could allow him to work in conjunction with my Dark Eldar. Anyone who knows about orcs and de know whether there iis potential in such a combo? Visually, I think it could be really cool, with Badrukk unexpectedly jumping in to kill and maim alongside the de.

I'm not sure that Flashgits bring much to the table that DE can't already do better.

Hilarity not withstanding.

I'm not finding a lot of information about Gitz, other than they are overcosted in the ork codex versus other options (and I'm not very familiar with the ork codex).

I did hear that you could consider them to be mobile heavy shooters with a 30" range that could take down tanks. That mass of long range shooting sounds like it could be beneficial in a Dark Eldar army...where you tend to be limited to Ravagers with thin armor.

Not really looking to make an unbeatable force with something like this, just wondered if they would be a huge liability. I've kicked around starting orcs for a little while, and putting some of them in a pirate theme with a looted Raider sounds like it would be a lot of fun to model.

Maybe light tanks. The highest St they can get on shooting is 6 and that costs 5 points a model. Badruk does have a St7 AP 2 gun, but that a lot of points(260 for a min squad with Badruk) for one model with 3 shots and you're wasting the shots(and points) of 5 other St5 AP D6 guns to do it.

For their points, you can find something better in your own book. I think that many points tied up in a unit with a 4+ AS and no dedicated role due to random AP will be more of a hindrance for DE than a help.

Flashgitz (In the fluff) kill anything that stand, the DE would prefer to inflict pain and a slow death. I doubt they would want his services, despite the freebooter commradery.

Thanks, I wasn't familiar with the fluff or the stats. I do love that model though...just need a creative way to use it. Maybe I'll proxy it as a warboss and use some other models.

I think the dark eldar would enjoy the humor of the situation. Wouldn't stop them from enslaving and slowly torturing the orcs afterwards.

Freebooters work for any race, so yes you could...but like everyone said but most races do it better. That's the great thing about orks we're just a little short of everyone else on just about everything a giant melting pot if you will. But we have so much it's like a giant green angry curse spewing cauldron =)
I'm going to ally my orks with daemons if it's possible. If not, I'll find a new army...or just play my 6-8k worth of orks... especially with flash gits and the other WAY to hard to find/expensive models coming out this month....

Never raze colony worlds and leave a single blonde haired toddler alive to be adopted by hyperadvanced birdmen?

I can picture Duke Sliscus looking at a looted Raider with giant wheels and saying "That has to be the galaxy's worst pirate!"

He turns around and finds the crew of his ship tied up while his ship - having been painted red and gunz and teef bolted on - breaks orbit and joins Badrukk's fleet. After watching for a moment, he says: "That has to be the most refined ork pirate in the galaxy!"

I should have left him there. He had served his purpose. He owed me nothing - yet he gave himself to me willingly. Why? I know not. He is nothing more than a pathetic human. An inferior race. A mon-keigh. But still I broke off my wings so that I might carry him easier. I took him from that place, into the snowstorm where our tracks will not be found. He is heavy. And he is dying. And he is slowing me down. But I will save him. Why? I know not. He is still warm. I can feel his blood ebbing across me. For every beat of his heart, another, slight spill of heat. The heat blows away on the winter wind. His blood is still warm. But fading. And I have spilled scarlet myself. The snow laps greedily at our footsteps and our lifeblood, covering them without a trace as we fade away.

'She sat on the corner, gulping the soup down, uncaring of the heat of it. They had grown more watery as of late she noted, but she wasn't about to beggar food from the Imperials or the "Bearers of the Word." Tau, despite their faults at least didn't have a kill policy for her race.'

We're talking about Kaptin melon-fething Badrukk here.

He'd beat up the Dark Eldar, take all of their loot, and find time to kill a Void Whale by throwing a harpoon into its heart through space.

For some reason, I can't see Orks using Dark Eldar weapons, since they don't exactly make a loud sound when they fire. But that can be solved for ships and vehicles - just rip out the un-Orky weapons, bolt on LOTZ OF DAKKA (and teef and spikes), and paint it red cuz' red unz go fazta.

What your forgetting is that any half way competent mek will be able to take anything DE that is killy and make it more killy by adding noise. Or some Komandos might see use in it for sneekin.

On the DE enslaving the Orks point I'm sure they would work together to destroy a common foe as long as it was usefull for both sides, then they would both turn on each other, the DE trying to enslave, the Orks just wanting a good scrap.
