So My local gaming group is getting involved with Infinity.

After reading the QSR and flicking over some you tube videos I have a Q or two.

If I fire a gun with Burst 4 and someone ARO's me with the 1 return shot.. What are the possible outcomes...

Every example in the QSR only has 1 shot ever going through so its hard for me to decide how it works.

If my BS = 12 and I roll 2,5,9,11 (That is 4 hits) My enemy rolls a 8 with a BS of 11.( So 1 hit)

Whats the outcome? A small explaination too would be great.

Also a roll of 1 on the D20 is a Critical hit right?

Also MOV stat line is never explained fully. Some models have Mov 4-4 some are 4-2 etc..

Because you can opt to move 2x in one action is the 2nd mov stat the 2nd move option?

I will have a ton more questions as the game goes on Im sure =]

Let's start with the easy questions :

A 1 is not necessarily a crit. You get a crit qhen you get spot on your stat.
If your model has BS 11 and you roll an 11, it's a crit.
If your models has BS 11, but is in the -6 range mod and the target has cover (so an other -3) you need to roll a 2 to get a crit. (BS 11-9 = BS 2)

For the movement, you are right, the second value is used if you are using your second movement

Then for the outcome of your shootout
If my BS = 12 and I roll 2,5,9,11 (That is 4 hits) My enemy rolls a 8 with a BS of 11.( So 1 hit)
You always compare your rolls against the opponent's roll(s)
You scored 4 hits but your opponent scored 1. Now you have to compare. His 8 is higher than your 2 and 5 so it nullifies these hits. Your 9 and 11 are higher than his 8, so you nullify this hit.
Meaning you get 2 hits and now he as to roll his ARM rolls.

You might want to read this thread, I was confused quite a bit with BS rolls and it helped a lot =)

I always compare the face to face roll to Blackjack. You want to beat your opponent/dealer but don't bust what you need to roll.

So as VS said the ARO roll nullifies any rolls less than his. But you sill got two on him.

Now if HE rolled an 11, it would have tied with your highest roll but since it's actually a Critical for him it would have beat the tie.

One of the great things in infinity is that you have options. You're opponent instead of shooting could have Dodged. Why would you do that? Well he might have so many negative modifiers that the roll to dodge would be easier than to shoot. Or he has a short ranged weapon that wouldn't hit anyway.

WOW! Thats not what I was thinking at all lol... I see one bullet has the power to nullify multple bullets! I was thinking it was 1 for 1...

Thanks for the help on that!

My next Q is one based on an actual model.

I bought Yu Jing Aragato Bikers... Pure model love on my part sice I dont have any books etc apart from the QSR's...

Whats the best way to paint these? Seems like the arms have to be a perfect match to the bike so the arms need to be glued on to the guy then test fit... Then paint the bike and the guys seperately..

Im also assuming the little bits ar the handlebar for the shooting arm and the pegs for the feet?

I really want these to look good as they are my first ones lol... dont want to bugger them up right off the bat =]

Very Carefully lol.

I have yet to do mine too but I'm going to do bike and rider separately just because it's easier to get at parts then. Dry fit everything first if possible. Maybe with just little bit of glue that you can later snap off to paint.

I think there can only be one answer as to how you have to paint those bikes..

As one of the worlds biggest Akira fans that is EXACTLY the opposite colour scheme I am going for with these bikes.

My painting is not that great and I would never do that any justice.

I have decided to paint my Bikes in White, grey and Scorpion/Moot Green.

Will be nice and bright =]

Im thinking of pinning the bikes to the bases and then pinning the rider to the seat. I cant see how else it would survive being used.

Mine are red, white and silver with a rising sun logo on the "fuel" tank area.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.
