I read it so you can't use the poison weapon for the auto hit. Thoughts?

Sorry -.-'

BRB p.40 Poisoned
"If a model har the Poisoned special rule, or is attacking with a Melee weapon that has the Poisoned special rule, it always wounds on a fixed number"

BRB p. 37 Hammer of Wrath
"...it makes additional Attack that hits automatically and is resolved at the model's unmodified Strenght..."

I'm wondering how this works with Gargolyes armed with toxin sacs

I read it as saying you benefit from all your special rules, except your strength won't be modified and your AP will be -.

You'll benefit from rending and poison.

How does that effect power weapons, power fists, etc?

Does this mean that a squad of Eldar shining spears get an extra PW attack at I10?

If this rule applies to poison, should it also apply to AP3/2 weapons?

Of course not, because it specifically says it's an AP- hit with the unmodified strength.

Ah, that was not in the quoted rules above. I don't have my rulebook handy right now.

That's how I read it, too. It says to make a close combat attack, and you can use weapons and rules in close combat. The only things you don't get are Strength and AP bonuses.
