I bought the thinnest brush I could find in a 30 mile radius (found at my FLGS), but it still is just too dang thick (detailing eyes and etc is near impossible), how am I supposed to detail things such as eyes? Is there a better brush? I don't have my painting set with me so I can't relay the brush size, but I remember it has a gold stick if that says anything (probably doesn't). So, how do I paint superfine details?

The brush size I have is 25/0 FLagul (I think) golden fox how does this compare?

Resin Printer (minaitures) is a 4K printer with one of the largest build volumes available for a resin printer (192mm x 120mm x 245mm) with an amazing .01mm resolution! This professional printer is one of the best resin printers on the market!

FDM Printer (terrain) also has one of the largest build volumes available for an FDM printer (400mm x 400mm x 450mm) and has an amazing ,05mm build accuracy.

The stick doesn't really tell us a great deal. Depending on where you live there SHOULD be an art store of some kind nearby: Ben Franklin, Michaels, Hobby Lobby, etc. The smallest brush I have ever gotten was 18/0 which is small but not the smallest I have ever SEEN. Its a great size for small detail and can be had in round, liner, square, and filbert. There are probably more but those are what I use. If you are looking to actually paint the eyes I believe some folks use needles.

You dont need a tiny brush to do fine detail. You need a brush with a good point. This is the difference between the high end brushes and your hobby store brushes. I have a W&N series 7 set of brushes and a Da vinci brush that are worth every penny.

the super fine brushes have really short bristles and the paint dries out before you get the brush to the model.

THIS (emphasis mine). Look after your brushes and they'll keep their point better. Get a good quality brush to begin with (W&N S7, Raphael 8404?, Rosemary & Co Series 33 - get watercolour variant, not 'miniature'. You want the longer bristles for a better paint reservoir and easier flow control).

In terms of size, I have a 000 that I use almost never (white dots inside the pupil of an eye maybe). I do most eyes / pupils and fine detail with a 0 and most general work with 1 or larger.

you can paint your entire model and almost every detail with a size 2 or 3 brush... just keep your tip pointed, your paints thin and your hand steady!!
