I'm sorting out a starter Tyranid army for a friend and have little knowledge of the army.
I'm intending on making them a prime using bits ordered from a bits website to save on £ but have not only no idea what I'm doing but no idea what bits to order!

What sort of wargear loadout would be cost effective (both £ and pts wise)?

Any help sorting this out would be muchly appreciated, if you could give me some ideas or even links to the bits that'd be brilliant!

With a Tyranid Prime, you definitely want either dual Boneswords, or Bonesword / Lashwhip combination. The lashwhip got a boost in 6E, and the Bonesword got a boost because it still ignores all armor saves. Other than that, a Deathspitter can be a nice ranged weapon.

The load out depends on what his job is.
I normally use genestealers for my melee fights, so I use warriors as infantry shooting, and uses deathspitters to do that job.
