Is there any fluff concerning these two armies fighting together and are they friendly or do they hate each other but still help because they are marines fighting for good?

Despite the fact that the Space Wolves are a violent, privileged group I see nothing against a treaty between the two chapters.

Both are savage close combat armies (fluffwise) that could work well together.

They are Battle Brothers in the Rulebook, so...

Among first founding chapters, there's relatively little bitterness aside from the well known Space Wolves and Dark Angels. I see no reason the Space Wolves and Blood Angels wouldn't get along.

Just about any loyalist Astartes chapter would ally with each other if the situation got bad enough, you even have examples of Chapters with bitter relations like Space Wolves and Dark Angels working together.

SM's are (for the most part) pragmatic enough to even ally with Xenos if the gak hits the fan, and to them Xenos are far worse then fellow loyalist Astartes no matter they do.

Yeah, but the Blood Angel would fall in love with a teenager, tell her how he's all sparkly. Then a Space Wolf would enter the picture making an awkward love triangle. The Space Wolf would run around without a shirt, and brood. The Blood Angel would try to reject the teenager, but knock her up, and we'd all be so sick of it that we'd never find out how it ends. We wouldn't care, but we also wouldn't mock it in front of our girlfriends, cuz' they're dumb enough to think it's genius. Let's hope this never comes to pass.

Sorry op, I kinda derailed this. I see a Wolves and BA teaming up, but not getting along well. Remember when Legolas and Gimli were competing for kills? Sumpin like that. With chainswords.

Ok cool thank you guys - it kinda leaves the door open for me to make my own fluff and I love the lotr analogy and will use it. I play wolves and if to's end up letting us use ally forces my redmaw company will be teaming up. I just wanted to check the fluff to see how they would react towards one another like sw and da. Also brans company do not like a certain ig army will have to check later on the regiment am commander but battle for betas III they straight up told the ig to stay out of their way lol and that was the only transmission between the two armies lol.

They'll get along just fine. Both Chapters see themself as defenders of the Empire and humanity. Both have fought at Armageddon.

The Space Wolves will surely be a bit irritating with their drinking and carousing, but they're still Space Marines. Both they and the Blood Angels are looking to do great deeds in battle against the enemies of the Empire - SW to get a good saga to tell, BA in order to be worthy in the eyes of their predecessors. With wise and able commanders for both forces any friction can be directed toward a good-natured competition between the two.

I'd think it'd probably be like one of those cliche movie moments.

They WON'T get along because they're so different, blood angels are more "refined" than SW and there'll be a lot of brawling between the two chapters, UNTIL they get into a giant battle, they see how similar they are and battlefield brotherly-ness and what not...

Hm, both are extremely violent close combat Marines. I think they could respect each other for that. I just think BA's are more sophisticated. (When not stabbing people in the throat and drinking there blood while they look into there enemies dying eyes)

Space Wolves and Blood Angels are both loyal to the Imperium and don't have any sort of feud or anything, so they would totally fight alongside one another. Even Space Wolves and Dark Angels, who do have a long-lasting feud, are willing to put it behind them and work together for the Imperium.

There used to actually be rules where, if Space Wolves and Dark Angels allied, two of your characters would have a ceremonial duel before the game started in remembrance of the duel between Leman Russ and Lion El'Jonson, and the winner would get some buff for the upcoming battle, while the loser would have a chance of being hurt in the duel and starting the battle at reduced Wounds. Very fluffy and cool.

Like I said in most threads that mention this, the Guard cann ally with anybody because the Guard can be used to represent just about anybody. Regiments raised on a Shrine world? Allies with the Sisters. Ultramar's PDF? Battle brothers with Space Marines. Traitor guard regiments? Allies with Chaos.

The Imperial Guard is not one kind of thing. There are literally 13 unique model ranges for Imperial Guard over the course of the "modern" era of 40K (since 2nd Ed). Cadians (metal and plastic), Catachans (metal and plastic), Mordians, Praetorians, Tallarns, Valhallans, Vostroyans, Steel Legion, Krieg (FW), Elysians (FW), Tanith (limited run), Attillans (single troop type) Traitors (FW)... All of these model lines come from different planets and different backgrounds. And that's just to give you the faintest idea of the kinds of Imperial Guard there can be. 2nd Edition Tyranid codex had Cultists with access to IGuard vehicles and tanks (the only reason Tyranids can't ally with Guard is that Genestealer Cult is not just simply allied Tyranids, it's its own thing).

Don't limit your thinking to Imperial Guard solely being the human "good guys". They can be bad guys, or religious wackos, or even the converts of the Tau Empire.

Blood Angels and Space Wolves have fought side by side.

The battle for Armageddon.

Dante took control of the Imperial forces.

The Space Wolves brought 5 great companies to the conflict.

Agreed the Guard allies make sense and gives people the option to run all sorts of traitor formations - all good and fluffy - some of the chart is good this way - other parts not. I think alot of people will house rule the chart to make it better fit the fluff.

Re the OP - I can;t think of any reason that the Blood Angels and Spacec Wolves would not ally - they might have a few issues during campaigns but nothing serious compared to working with Xenos for instance.

Oh and Underworld - Truely awesome series - Kate Beckinsale alone makes it glorious

Both are very ritualistic primitive warrior-culture-esque groups and so I feel they would bond almost instantly and definitely fraternally.
