Hey guys. I was a long time Warhammer 40k player and now playing Warmachine. I have the following Cryx. I picked them cause they looked cool to paint . Anyways, this is what i got. Thank you all for your help.

So are you looking for lists to use? advice on certain units/warjacks? or what to purchase next?

Ok, first things. Start small. Use the starter battlebox (Denghra, Slayer, Defiler, 2x Deathripper) vs the other battleboxes. This will start you off quickly and introduce you to the rules. (Use the starter ruleset)

After that, expand into 15-25 point games. Add in some units. Replace some warjacks with units. Change the warcaster. Experiement with what you have and read Battle College to find out what other stuff could offer you.

Ya i was looking for lists. I have a couple of tourneys at my LGS soon. I am getting some practice games in some time today so i can get the rules down, learn proper ways to use focus, and find out which warcaster i like.
I really am liking dene's rules; however, she feels a little soft and if she gets hit it just seems like she gets hit hard. This is why i bought venethrax and terminus. I like
i like skarre's rules also. being able to bring cheap units for focus batteries for more abilties for jacks or spells just seems awesome. She seems like she cant take a hit either so i just dont know.
I guess im looking for more advise on how to better use these units to at least give my opponents a headache. Not necessarly to win, as i am new so i am going to expect to lose for quite some time . Thanks again

What point size are the tournaments? Can you take two lists?

Ok, now I see where you are coming from. You want to be competitive. You've got the right stuff there to start with. Just missing a solo or two that I would call important. Hopefully your tournament is going to be based around the steamroller pack (at the bottom of this page).

You're right about Deneghra not being able to take a hit, but she shouldn't have to in the first place. She should be using the arc nodes to increase the effective range of her spells and feating when you want your stuff to kill the enemy. I wrote a bit in this thread about using Denny. The guy I was advising was using nightmare but its very similar to the slayer so just move the advice across.

You've gotten the Skarre's mixed up by the sound of it. Skarre1 (pirate queen) has the focus battery and Skarre2 (Queen of the broken coast) hasn't. Skarre2 is a very nasty warcaster but with her I would always be taking the Raider Captain to stop her being knocked down.

Both those casters can't really take a hit as you have realised, but neither should be in a place that enables the enemy to hit them.

Terminus and Venethrax are very similar casters and like a lot of the same stuff in their lists. Darragh Wrath, Withershadow Combine, Madilyn Corbeau, others.

Thanks a lot man. The point cost is 35 points, 2 different lists needed. I have the funds to pick up missing units if need be. I must have gotten the 2 mixed up, i will have to go buy skarre1 cause i like her focus battery idea with necrosurgeons healing her or the thralls.
Pistol wraiths? 1 or 2 needed?

Stuff I'd recommend buying, that is useful in almost all cryx lists:

-warwitch siren
-satyxis UA

Throw on a couple of jacks:

-Nightmare
-Deathjack

And units:

-bile thralls
-full mech thralls + necrosurgeons + brutes

At that point, you'll have 90% of the Cryx power pack. A few solos here and there (Wraithe, Slaughterborn, Corbeau, Gorman), another couple of units (Withershadow, maybe something else I'm forgetting).

How are pistol Wraiths?? Why Brutes??

Pistol wraiths are versatile little assassins that excel at picking off the back field solo's that are key to your oponents plans. Also they a can lock a heavy jack/beast down for a turn, which doesn't sound like much but i assure is a pretty huge deal. Of course they tend to get creamed after the attack since they lose incorporeal after they shoot, but if you run Skarre2 her feat can help mitigate that.

Brutes hit like a ton of bricks and as medium based models can help your little zombie hoard from getting trampled to death. What I really like about them, though, is that they make it that much harder for you opponent to kill all your zombies in one go (which is important since you have to have a unit left for your necro surgeon to make replacement thralls for the following turn).

Nice. I wasnt sure about mechano thralls, but for 3 points you cannot deny their use.
Do necro surgeons work with all types of thralls?
I was thinking of using gore the bastard. His feat seems especially nasty summoning a full unit of bane thralls.

Min unit, not full.

His feat is better in lower point games and I find him amazing in Mangled Metal since there's no opposing infantry to screen the assassination run.

Awesome! Thanks for the advise. I just picked up a battle box of Skorne too if anyone has any ideas on them id appreciate all the help i can get.

Played my first 2 games of warmachine the other day. Won one and lost one. Its a blast to play.
