Subject: power weapons that says ignores armour saves, how do they work?

If i have a power weapon (banshee mirror swords, warp spider power blades) that says they ignore armour are they still only AP3, or do they make 2+ go away? cause the BRB says that they are AP3, but use the rules in codex and that says ignores armour saves.

Unless faqed still only AP3, and still follow their rules for ignoring armour, this is because it is a Power Weapon with built in special rules (ignoring armour) and so is therefore treated as AP3, which is basically only then used for its ability to damage vehicles.(But yes it still ignores armour saves, and strikes at normal Intiative unless other rules grant further bonus/penalties)

I think this is wrong the new values of AP for different power weapons replace any rules for power weapons ignoring armour

I think you've got this wrong (unless I'm confused)
Unless you've got power axes (AP2), your power swords (AP3) will have no effect on termi 2+ armour save.

Remember, codex rules supercede those of the BRB so, until GW FAQ's your codex or releases a newer version written with 6th edition in mind, if a weapon in your codex ignores armor saves then the target gets no armor saves against wounds caused by said weapon.
I play Necrons and when they FAQ'ed the Warscythe it stayed the same as what was in my codex except they gave it AP1 (+2 on the vehicle damage) I have a feeling the same will eventually happen to other weapons that have special rules in codecies.

The important thing to remember here is that under their army list section (Top of page 63, Eldar Codex) it says in their wargear that they have "power weapons". It does not say that they have "Mirror Swords" and then direct you to the Mirror Sword section in the same codex, it says they have "power weapons", which necessitates the BRB. We then go to the BRB where the rules for power weapons in 6th edition say, quite explicitly, that if it's not an unusual power weapon (since the entry just says "power weapon", it's not) then it's either a Sword, Maul, Axe, or Lance. Since, again, it just says "power weapon" it then entirely depends on what they're modeled as having. You can have any of the four options on your Banshees.
They do not, however, simply ignore saves. Something like Boneswords, however, which aren't power weapons but do have in their rules "ignores saves" still do ignore saves.

Check the reference at the bank of the 6th Ed BRB. If your weapon does not have a profile there, it is AP -* where * = ignores armor saves. It's not AP anything, unless it falls into an existing category like Shik mentioned, which is dependent on the actual model.

regular banshees have power weapons, the exarch can take either an executioner or mirror swords to replace their power weapon. the executioner is listed as "a power weapon that is +2 strength" while mirror swords are "a pair of blades that give +2 attacks and ignore armorsaves." Thus mirror swords are NOT power weapons, are not AP3. Instead they ignore armorsaves.

No, it isn't. The correct answer is in the post directly above yours. You are correct for normal Banshees, but as mentioned already, Mirrorswords are Exarch-only wargear and explicitly state 'ignore armor saves'. These weapons (and Powerblades for Warp Spider Exarchs) have not been FAQ'd yet, so until they are, they ignore armor saves.

Pg61 BRB, I believe is self explanatory.
Neither the powerblades or mirrorswords mention power weapon in thier description/name niether for that matter do boneswords. the BRB is quite specific about the PW bit. None of these are PW, they ignore armour which AP3 doesnt.

Nevermind, they didn't put anything in there about these weapons. So ya, if it ignores armor and isn't a "power weapon" then it still ignores armor.

Ignored armour in 4th, ignored armour in 5th, and pretty sure will be ignoring armour in 6th, unless a new codex tells me otherwise. Talking eldar weapons of course.

I don't know what the rules are for Dead Man's Hand.
Boneswords are not Power Weapons, just weapons that ignore armour saves.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
