The way i'm now reading Honour Guard (Captains and Chapter Masters as well), is that because they come with axes and you can give every guy a relic blade, does this mean they can hurt anything in the game except flyers and flying mc? This is because the relic blade is a strength 6 power weapon and axes give +2 strength. This seems like a great idea and I think i'm rigth but want to check to see what everryone else thinks before using it.

The Relic Blade is a unique Power Weapon with its own rules. The book covers that(it uses its own rules, ie. two-handed and S6, and makes it AP3).

That right there is what makes it a special power weapon. Normal power weapons use the base strength of the user (although it ca be modified).

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
Orks always ride in single file to hide their strength and numbers.

Axes give +1 STR, but, since the Relic Blade is a unusual power weapon, it wouldn't get the benefit from the axe rule.
The +2 Str is the unusual part, and as such, it's an unusual power weapon.

Relic Blades are not in the FAQ; and they have Unique Special rules(Set Strength value, no 2-weapon bonus).
They are Unusual Power weapons With A str 6, AP 3 Strike at Initiative, and cannot gain a 2-weapon bonus when they are used(but another weapon used will count them for a 2-weapons Bonus attack); and Finally their form Does not matter(Axe, Sword, Spear, Club, Battle Cannon, Old style Dark Eldar Warrior, these are all Relic blades with the above profile should the model wielding them have a relic blade).

Ohh ok, its a shame though as it would have been fun to walk up to a land raider and glance it to death.

Also the rules for Relic Blade mean even if it was an Axe, it would still only hit at S6.

You do realize that what you're asking for is a Relic blade that follows pretty much the rules for a powerfist, right?

You're also under the mistaken impression that power axes provide +2 Strength. They do not.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."
This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.
