why do you even have eldar in the list, why not take them out and add broadsides?

The farseer gives guide and doom, there psychic powers, guide lets you re roll your failed to hit rolls, basically makes the weapons twin linked and Doom lets you re roll your to wound rolls ,

The rangers/ pathfinders hit on 3+ and on a 5 or 6 makes them AP1 then they need a 4+ to wound minding in the new edition if you roll a 6 to wound you get to pick the target from the squad you are shooting at, if you pick a normal rank and file member of the unit there is no look out sir, so that can shred apparent a devastator unit in 1 round of shooting, not to mention they get a 2+ to there cover.

im planing something similar but with a aegis defence line with the laz weapon attachment with it, with the far seer maning the gun and giving guide to the pathfinders and dooming there unit, behind the wall they get a 2+ cover save and the laz gun is going to be firing at BS5

Fortune and Guide will only work for the Pathfinders so I dont really think its worth it. Rather take divination and get a "Guide on crack" that can be cast on any unit. While you will lose Doom its not the end of the world really.
Personally I think the Aegis with the Quad gun gives much more bang for your buck.

This is pretty original and silly.... I like it! Suitspam with psychic defense all wrapped up in AV 14 bastions lol.

Viability may be a different thing all-together, but it would be interesting

Thanks for the feedback. I will take a look at divination. Seems like quite a few goodies buried in there potentially.

You don't have enough troops from your main army (Tau) for a normal 2k points game, which is 2 detachments.

At the 2k point level, it is optional to take the second detachment as the BRB specifically says that, "...You MAY take a second detachment...".

Let me assure you, Ive opened the Eldar codex 1 or 2 times. I dont need you to repeat what the codex says, I need you to prove to me that the added Eldar units have synergy (which they dont).

To my knowlege you can not Guide Tau Units as they are not a "eldar" unit. If they FAQ'd this I would love to see it, but you cant guide TAU units.

As far as Doom it might be "ok". By "ok" His Elite slots ALREADY wound on 2's and 3's , while his troops ALREADY wound on 3's. Doom works best on 4+ needing to wound shooting. To my knowlege eldar can bring a new power that makes units "re-roll all armor saves". I would bring that power over doom any day as its better for armies wounding on a 3+.

The Pathfinders in groups of 5 are complete gak. Doom support helps, but there going to have what 7 hits, 3-4 wounds, mabe 1-2 deaths based on how many times you wound?

VenerateDaniel, IF you take out the farseer and the Pathfinders and add maxed out broadsides, you will be mathmatically doing MORE damage.
