Do people think it's legal for the daemons to take a 'warped' sky sheiks landing platform for all their units to land on?

Essentially it's a GIANT chaos icon to teleport on. I mean, it's in there for every coded to use I assume. Why shouldn't it be?! This is cheat codes for the daemons. It's a pad that they can instantly warp onto and then control.

Didn't it say in the rule book that anyone can use them, but they can be modified to represent the army you are using.

So you can use it, but it looks silly for daemons to use an imperial landing pad, so modify it to make it look 'daemony'.

I wouldn't have a problem, as long as it's about the same size. Check the P&M section of the forum, someone made something exactly like what you are describing. It was like a large stone slab with the chaos icon carved in, and a huge gateway with daemons coming through.

Model it to look like a Chaos Gate?

There, done and done.

Nothing in the rules to say you can't take them.

It's only fair, frankly. If every other bugger gets to take them ,why not Daemons

Sure you can have it. I'd still rather have 3 Icons scattered in my army though, especially with reserves coming faster now.

I think all fortifications can be used to make sense for any army. I was talking to a friend playing Tyranids last night and discussing the coolest way to make a Tyranid "Bastion". I can't wait to see it on the table, frankly.

My necron bastion is a monolith

Actually, placing a mono on a skyshield sounds like a fun idea, actually.

It would be quite funny to have a squad of Infiltrators pop up next to the gate though and then ironically tell the CD player: "Yeah, your Daemon Gate is closed now. Have a nice day!"

Edit: I just found a use for Mandrakes!

Lololol all you guys are hilarious!

I plan to turn it into a tendril and spiked vagina for spawning daemons. Birthing warp rifts with daemons coming out of a bloody vagina. Def will turn heads.

As for the nid bastion, it's just a giant mysetic spore that flowered and has bloomed with spiney tendrils and carapace spires.

I think the daemons just got the best rules upgrade ever. Flying monster rules plus having auto fortress for deep striking is just mean. Plus I can take allies. Say, corrupted guard lead by tZeentch daemons for just an ungodly amount of shooting.

Here's a question for everyone. Can I put an objective on the landing pad? Because wouldn't it be hilarious if you put a blob of 20-40 plagues with the barriers up sitting on an objective? They have to shoot you off the platform first before they can even come close to contesting. Lololololol a tarpit of zombies lol go fetch your objective from that!!!

They needed a buff. I'm all in favour

Does anyone else have a suggestion on what to do for a daemon landing pad?

I don't believe you can place objectives on fortifications.
