With foot troops being much more viable now I thought it would be fun t look into a list that may be kind of unique. I have always love the forgeworld Wraithseer. But only now have I really looked into what he does. He was decent before but I believe now he is pretty great. He gets the same buffs that a wraithlord got in 6th. That extra attack at I10 on the charge being nice. He re-rolls to hit in CC which is needed and wounds everything on 2+ for the most part. He has his 5++ which is sweet. Another really nice thing is the change to feel no pain. Now AP doesnt change if you can use it or not. His one psychic power gives himself, a wraithlord or unit of wraithguard tee feel no pain rule. What shoots are your WL and WG the most? AP1 and AP2 stuff. So it wasnt that beneficial before but is now. Now this isnt the list section so I wont post up my proposed list. And tailoring a list around him may not win you every tournament. But I feel like you could have a pretty strong list based around him and eldrad. Oh, I didnt even get to the best part. He is the only place outside of a Heavy slot that you can take a D-gun. D-guns are just rude in this edition. Large blast would on 2+ AP2 VS infantry, Auto glance 2-4 penn 5-6 large blast AP 2 vs vehicles. With the new rules on blast markers and hull points/ glancing. Its a barrage weapon so no cover saves either. This gun is crazy. If you ran 2 wraithlords in your army you could give him cover behind them and have him fire away his D-gun. Just an idea. Yea its alot of points and a not so much standard kind of Eldar list. But I may just give it a shot.
Mostly for fun (as that is what warhammer is all about) I think I will try to purchase him and build a MC list for eldar. Wraithseer, Wraithlords, Wraithguard (mini MC's! lol), war walkers, Eldrad cuz he is a champ. At 2000 points Add in the avatar too. Should be really cool to see on the table. Yea they'd be slow but they would have a very large range of firepower to combat that. Make the most of pre measuring and spread them out to take up as much space as possible but still be in Seer sight. What do you think?

Foot-dar works well in this new edition, and 3x wrathlords with wraithguard troops and 2 farseers is very effective, at least until it comes to shooting down fliers.
With the wraithseer being a forgeworld model, you need your opponents permission to run it, or the tournament's TO's needs to ok it's usage.

Hopefully forgeworld will become more mainstream with the release of the new flyers and book coming out. So that may no longer be much of an issue. But for some tournaments and pretty much any friendly game this should fine.
And guide is a great tool for shooting fliers as you get to re-roll most of your shots everytime. I may even throw in a pack of 3 war walkers for shootyness.

Well, thanks for the tactical Ideas. I have the model, bought it back when I was toying around with a WG/WL seer hybrid army.
Edit: the resin quality is superb, so much better than finecast. Not a single misformation or bubble in any part of the resin.

A squadron of 3 Warwalkers (mine have scatter lasers) are almost mandatory for each Eldar army. The amount of fire they can dish out (with guide) is sick.

That is great to know! That was my one worry about it being resin. So it's nice to hear that they are better quality. Also the price isnt bad either compared to a normal WL. Its like almost the same price. Its so difficult to leave without taking walkers. Most points effective per shot I think we have in the codex. I love when people ask me "How many points did you spend on that unit?!", "180 :-)"

In smaller games, I often took 3 Warwalkers with shuricannons, 120 pts.
One downside is that they cannot charge after outflanking. In some situations they were quite useful in order to silence guns.

Though if you are focused on having 3 Wraithlords, you can still get some Wasp Assault Walkers. They cost a tad more because they swap Scouts for DS and Jet Pack movement, but at lest they'll just use up FA slots

Oh Yes... and only $0.59 more then a normal War walker. And a mere 10 pts more. For an extra 6" on movement as a jump troop Which benefits them with a cover save if im not mistaken. Also freeing up a Heavy slot? oh yes please. Now If only every player who I encounter who knows anything about eldar would only agree to playing against them. War walkers in a fast attack slot is amazing on all fronts. Id kill to have my FA slots be taken up with 3 Wasps, A hornet or hornet squadron, and warp spiders.

One thing worth noticing is that Wraithseer's Deliverance gives FNP(4+). With current FNP rules this is actually quite significant buff.

Feel no pain is now 5+ good sir. But AP1 and AP2 weapnons no longer bypass it. And with lascannons and the like all over the place, that makes me a happy camper.

FW specifically mentions the Wraithseer's power gives FNP (+4)

Ok well IA 11 Shows differently.... It just says it gives FNP.
EDIT.... Wow I didnt know they brought them up to date with 6th. My fault on this one. Thank you for that link. SOrry about that. Good find.
Just read it. So it gets a BETTER FNP? Thats incredible. No AP1 or AP2 cutting through it and now its a 50% save instead of a 33% save. This makes me want him even moreeeee. Thanks again.

So, going from codex to FW eldar:
you can now have 3 wraithlords and 9 (better) war walkers, a wraithlord with a D-cannon, wraithguard with 4+ feel no pain, all in the same list.
A WG block with two farseers and the wraithseer (i.e., a 2000+ pt list) can have a 3+ armor, a 4++ invuln, a 4+ FNP, and fortune.
that is SO much better than a codex wraith list, it is absurd. This is why people don't trust FW lists.

They don't trust it because it makes Eldar mid tier?

I very infrequently draw or worse with a codex wraith list.
Give me a wraithseer, FNP, and FA war-walkers? that is not a mid-tier list.

If at any point any IoM army looks across the board and goes "uhhh this is gonna be a tough battle" or "wow, they is a really strong army" or "i dont think my guns can take them out" then the warhammer gods come down from the sky (or up from te ground) and declares that your xenos army isnt allowed to better then an IoM army, and curses you by making your next codex worse. :-)
Thats a list to get excited over. But that isn't allowed now is it ;-)
