Now that Big Gunz are good in 6th edition, I need some but I don't want to spend $20 a piece for them.

Does anyone know any toys or alternative models that I could orkafy and use?

Thanks.

Making Big guns:

1) Buy a box of grots
2) Use any crazy crap you have laying around to make guns.
3) Profit!

I use the big gun mounts from the top of the Battle Wagon as big guns, as well as random heavy weapons that I roll in the bits box.

I used the extra Killkannons that came with the Deffrolla sprue. I wasn't planning on using killkannons anyway, so converting them to Kannons was a no brainer.

The tutorial is awesome, but I travel too much to do scratch building. I was hoping there was some WW2 artillery piece that I could just add some Orc bits to.

Something maybe on the cheap side (cause I need at least 9).

Honestly it only takes about 30 mins to cut and put together.. So it does not take that long to build them..

I've seen a number of Meks around the web do great work using stuff from http://www.toysoldiersdepot.com/ as conversion fodder. Most of the guns appear to run large, but lopping off sections and tacking on orky bits might save you enough time over scratchbuilding the whole thing that it's worth your while.

Not to bash anyone who wants to make their own Big Guns. THESE however are awesome. I haven't bought them yet myself (I have tons of other stuff on my painting table) but they're definitely a future purchase. Kromlech has so much awesome Ork stuff, and the price on these is really good.
