This is my tyranid list I have run since the 3rd day of 6th edition (when i realized that each of the MC's in this army can get 2 powers and biomancy is awesome)

pts: 1500 ((if it comes in under just add another ymgarl most games i forgot they existed tho (the perils of alcohol))

I have played ~6 games against: Necrons, Necrons+Chaos (abbadon+plauge marines), Tau, and Grey Knights and lost none. In 5th edition (we played the last 3 months of it) I went 50/50 with these players so its not just they are nubs

This is the way I run it:
I try to go 2nd so I can place
my HT's across from Dangerous things that dont have layers of protection (LR--> Assault Termies I wouldnt sent these against.) Both roll biomancy, if I get crappy powers I just make the best of it (life leech, Hemmorage are terrible for him)
Their plan is to stay together for OA/ strength in numbers. They can target independently. Shooting them down requires two sqauds to hit, then both of them to fail 3+ saves (think about shooting at Meqs) and after that, they are still Hive Tyrants. (one of them with the I+A buff spell killed Abbadon in a challenge)

Then I take the Tervigons and put them across from the troopy section of their army. I split them ~1' apart and put the zoans in the middle and behind them the venomthrope. The terms bubblewrap.
So now, all my little bugs get 5+ saves (why are my opponents shooting 5pt models I do not know) the Tervigons continue to spawn (usually one craps out 1st turn, the other lasts all game. I tried 1 tervigon list and it crapped out immediatly.... Dice gods smile on redundancy)
Everyone has at least 1 model in range of the Venomthropes (Dangerous terrain to charge, Defensive grenades, 5+ Cover everwhere!)
Zoanthropes can shoot Meq at the same range, and when its rapid fire range the Tgants add in s4 shots
Tervigons put the hurt onto any vehicles, attract the heaviest shooting, buff everyone and... roll 2x each on the biomancy table! (They use all powers effectively)

I make sure the terrain is fully saturated, and then say "damn the torpedoes, full steam ahead" until the army gets in shooting range (pre measuring is so f***ed) in the meantime the Hive Tyrants swoop and shoot at what I think will be most effective (looking at you mr. "I cost 30 pts a man", or vehicles with low armor value) then they decide whether to kill the biggest baddest unit in the enemy army, or attack the nastiest thing going at the other half.
From shooting range with the body filled half of the army I try and get some of my smaller termagant units out front to tie up units in combat. I try and not let any part of my army be seen by the entire enemy army.

It can be tough if I roll only useless powers like two 12" shooting attacks for the HT's. But even without psychic powers (if they get #1 they can be s9 t9 each) but even without psychic powers this list is beast mode thanks to the new flight rules. Many a squad has fired at my hive tyrants and caused 0 hits.

First thing, you have 4 elites, you need to slip the loose Zoanthrope with the other two. Shouldn't be an issue as you use many powers in the movement phase.

How are the gants working out for you as you use them? When I run 1500 I worry about putting the offensive force into them as I don't want to lose my objective holders. I am running a similar list, just one tyrant instead of two at 1500,

The basis is the same with your in using mobility and mass S6 shooting, I just put more T^ out there and can use Trygons to keep gants safe.

I like the way the termagants are spawned, I send them to die b/c all of them are s4 and re roll on Meq when they charge

Adding a second HQ doesn't open up an elite slot. If your playing 2k point game then you get a second FOC but at 1500 your list is illegal.

I ended up dropping venomthropes because have 1 model in a squad in the bubble is kinda useless now as opponents will just focus fire the rest out of the bubble with no cover save provided by the venom.

If running dual flyrant I think a large brood of gargoyles works really well. They get a lot of boosts from 6th and if you keep them in the OA bubble then even better. Single zoanthrope too vulnerable - at least pairs or not at all.
