Sooo, in 6th edition shooting is obviously much more important than ever.
With Eldar being a 4th edition codex, they only have access to overpriced and mostly not that efficient guns. This is especially true for my Eldar jetbike army, as the jetbikes are quite expensive in points and only leave little room for the heavier shooting the Eldar have in their arsenal. Furthermore, the shooty options in my army have to have the possibility to keep up with the jetbikes, in order to not be left behind.
So how do you think can an Eldar jetbike army compensate for the low ammount of shooting it can put out and what shooty stuff would you suggest?
In other words: How do I get the "DAKKA" in my Eldar jetbike army?

I would bring 6 squads of the following
3 jetbikes + warlock with destructor (4 bikes total)
This lets you do the following
* Regroup even if your at 1 model with normal ability
* Threaten hordes with 6 fast moving heavy flamers
* Threaten vehicles with fast moving wytchblades
* Objective grab quickly (5/6 of the missions are objective based)
* Take a few extra STR 6 shots (mostly for harassment)
The goal of these squads is to harass and objective grab. They are extremely expendable. Don't cry if they die, thats thier job.
6 of these squads is 726 points, giving you a lot of points to still spend on the rest of your army. This might include war walkers, DE allies, etc...

Scatter Lasers. I have been having luck with 2 Vypers with 2 Shuriken Cannons each. The speed and volume of fire helps to get around flanks and rears to use that STR6.
I think STR6 SPAM is going to make a huge comeback as the hull point system sort of fixes the weak points of it (vs mech).
Also, I have been running 2 units of 2 warwalkers each with an assortment of shuriken cannons or scatter lasers. I outflank them so I can get those soft, sides and rears.
Now by doing all this I have prevented myself from the classic Guide/War Walker STR6 spam, but I think the overall mobility makes up for it. 6th is a fast game now.
Also, with the basic Divination power, you have an extended range Guide, so that can help mitigate some of that as well.
Beyond that perhaps a Falcon or two with some Dire Avengers or even Fire Dragons in it. These gun boats carry a lot of guns and can fire more than ever, and with effective cargo they can be great. Don't bother with Spirit Stones or Holo-fields anymore. just give it tons of guns and drive it around. AV12, with jink is fairly resilient... just stay away from CC.
Warp Spiders are also a great friend of mine, whether deep striking in or hopping around, their mobility and ability to drop tons of concentrated STR6 fire is awesome.
I have only had a few battles with my jetbike army, but these are the items I have been using to supplement. So far, things have been great, but this is by no means the limit to your available options.
It truly depends on what kind of army you're looking to field. all skimmers, mixed, etc...
Any input from you would be great. Which models have you been looking at? what catches your eye?

I actually run 3 squads like that, they are very useful^^ Only difference would be that mine have singing spears, as they apparently kept their s9 vs vehicles (at least when throwen)

Always loved jetbikes, I pretty much have all moels that have something to do with Eldar jetbikes and are fast Be it normal jetbikes, jetseer council, vypers and so on. These however are in my army anyway. What I would love advie for is actually more of the heavy support section.
I think fire prisms might be good as they can deal quite a bit of damage and keep up with the jetbikes. I totally love the nightspinner, but I don´t fell like it´s worth it anymore after the nerf to dangerous terrain... Warwalkers have been recommended by many people IRL but to be honest I don´t really like them. I know that they schould be pretty good, but they are just not fast enough on their own in order to fit my playstyle o.O

Heavy support is a tough one in this edition for me to conceptualize right now as well. Which is why I have fallen back on the outflanking war walkers. This give me the speed I need with the firepower to boot.
I completely agree with you about the night spinner, I am glad I only have one. I was going to spam them last edition but never got around to it. It does have barrage which allows you to sort of target characters in a unit, since the wound allocation comes from the center of the template. so that's neat, but eldar tend to not need barrage from my experience.
I have yet to try Prisms in this edition but weapon destroyed results are random now so that sort of increases the viability of a big gun vehicle (Prism, Vindicator, etc) - nat that that bothered me before. With Spirit Stones not being worth it IMHO, this opens up the shuriken chin cannon for additional dakka.
I love the falcon though, just has always been my go to guy, probably some type of nostalgia from it being the first Eldar Tank model. (I think)
Also, Wave serpents can fit that role of support tank now, with the new vehicle firing rules for Fast Skimmers.
That's pretty much it unless you're going to Forgeworld something or take some foot sloggers.

I think I´m just oing to try out the prisms and see how they work, I mean if you look at them on paper, they got a slight boost in 6th. They are not only faster but also get a jink save and the thing with the "weapon destroyed" benefits them aswell. On top of that blasts are now beeter vs vehicles as the hole of the template no longer has to be on the vehicle in order to count as full strengh.

Awesome. I'd love to see a finished list and hear about how it played out. I'm trying to perfect my own Jetbike Army for 6th aswell. I'm thinking about running shining spears as they got a nice bump... but I always run them with an Autarch, and the allure of running a dual farseer army on jetbikes is amazing...

To be honest, I think shining spear got a lot better, but they are still kinda weird...
They are just too dependent on getting the charge... In 6th edition with random charge ranges I honestly think they are too expensive to be played alongside a jetseer council, but too weak in order to replace said council :(

My list that I built a couple of months ago that suprised a lot of poeple and is still good in this edition.
2 Jetseers w Foutune, Guide and Singing Spears
2 Squads of Fire Dragons, one at 5 strong the other at 6. both with exarchs and crackshot.
2 Squadrons of Eldar Jetbike Gardians. Both teams with 6 Gaurdians & 2 Shricannons and Warlock with Singing spear and embolden(This wouldprobably change to destructor or Enhance)
2 Squads of Dire Avengers in Wave Sepents. Dire Avengers we 6 strong inc Diresword Exarch. Wave Serpents are with Bright Lance and Shuri-Cannon.
2 Vipers with Missle launchers, 1 with shuricannon
2 Falcons with Bright lances.
Leave the Wave Serps/ DA in backfield moving around the objectives,
Have Farseers join the EJG squads and each squad moves with a Falcon loaded with the Fire Dragons.
Fortune your bike squads and Guide the Falcons. If you think that you can hide the bikes well enough, then guide & fortune the Falcon.
Has worked good for me so far.

Yea, I uised them in one battle and continuously used Hit and Run to give them a very cinematic sweeping type of assault. The improved movement, and being able to mask them within the other jetbikes... it's fun. Definitely worth experimenting with.

Still not sure wether I would have the points to put them into my list, as I already run a jetseer council which is also not cheap.

I've Always been partial to my seer council. Im glad they aren't unusable in 6th or I would have been very sad. I have a hard time opening up points for some shining spears in my faster eldar lists.

if you ally in some DE bikes they would be stupidly good.
try some DE HQ(Baron?), 5 wyches in a venom with haywire grenades, and 9 reavers with 3 clusters and 3 heat lances + arena champ and a venom blade.
Baron gives any squad he joins assault and defensive grenades and stealth, so charging DE bikes will have a 2+ coversave against overwatch and always strike first in cover. He gives the reavers hit and run and improves their standing cover save to 3+. They cant turbo but still beastly for its points. 9 str3 and 1 str5 hits at init 10, + 24 regular attacks, +4 2+ to wound attacks, + 5 str6 attacks on the charge. Combat drugs and furious charge not included

Dark Eldar allies are great for Eldar in almost every situation, thats true^^
But to be honest, I would rather avoid any allies at all as I really don´t like the idea behind the entire allies system...

I second the falcon idea. They can keep up well and gives you easy access to nice firepower. Pulse laser and Scatter laser shooting when you move 12", Plus it allows you to take some fire dragons or a small assault based squad and give them mobility too.
In the fast attack, I'd look at warp spiders too. Excellent mobility, and can really torrent anything down with a big squad.

Spiders seem a lot better now in 6th edition, and I will try out the falcon to see how that goes

Also, they don't start off with FNP..
They have to kill something first, or begin the game with a pain token by some method.
I hear a lot of 'all DE have FNP standard' complaints at my local, and it always irks me, as they ahve to work for that first all-important pain token.
A properly token'd up Reavers squad can be an unholy terror, used right

I wasnt assuming they started with it. But between the drugs, FNP, FC, and Fearless they can be really nasty.

Yea Im starting to think the Faclon is making the move for a top of the Heavy slot Gold medal. Blast Blast Blast and transport someone to where they need to go. Also can fire is shuru cannon underbelly + both main weapons on the turn it only goes 6" to drop off its cargo. That thing can dish out some punishment. But I dont own any :-(. I saw someone with a cool falcon conversion using everything on a fire prism but not the long gun or the Prism "L" shaped power source. They instead have Bright lances coming straight our of where the guns were. Kinda looked like a small version of the forgeworld heavy. With my 2 prisms being magnetized to the max (I never regret magnetizing anything) I could try outthis conversion and say $100!

While I probably will go back to falcons I'm currently going to try a bike list with 9 Vipers (6 starcannons and 3 lances). I have no idea how well it will do but sense my local meta is nothing but SM it should make them run for cover before boltering me to death.

Please let us know how this works. I kinda like the idea :-)
