Hello guys,

had a question about the aegis defence line, will i be able to stick a 4 squad blob behind them with heavy weapons and have everything have Line of sight over the top? or are the shields too high to see over?

many thanks!

The shields are pretty high, however there are low points for useful weapons. And to top it off, the hisgher parts of the defence lines actually have little gun slits which allow models to shoot through ha. You should be fine. As a house rule my friends and i say that anyone behind it can see over it as it said (at least in the old rulebook) that models are assumed to be actively trying to put themselves into superior position, IE because my scout sargeant isn't exactly all the way behind the cover 100% he is assumed to duck down when he is shot at, and pop up when he shoots.
Overall I think you should be ok

Other than grots (or maybe squats ), pretty much all other standing humanoid models can see over the Aegis walls.

So could be a problem e.g. for seated/kneeling IG HW teams, but otherwise everyone should be able to get LoS (in both directions).

The Aegis defense line has shooting slits at the eye-hight for IG. The shields completely hide an ork otherwise, the lower parts hide only gretchin.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

As described in the rule book this is one of those things you should discuss with your opponent before the game starts. In a similar way to how you deal with "solid" walls in ruins you should check each item of scenery and agree how it will be dealt with. In my view there is no problem assuming that any model behind an aegis line can see over and fire, as long as they can be fired back at. This represents the models getting into a good position behind the cover and, if needs be, balancing their heavy weapon on the edge of the cover, rather than using the stand they are modelled on. But its rude to jump this on an opponent half way through the game.
