So I know most people don't use havocs, but if you did, how would you equip them with 6th ed in mind?

Every Dakkanaught gets a 4+ Pinch of Salt save.
When you suffer a Falling Sky hit, roll a D6 - on a 4+ the hit is ignored as per the Pinch of Salt save. On a 1-3 panic insues - you automatically fail common sense tests for the next 2 weeks and get +7 to your negativity stat. -Praxiss

I always thought that it would be nice to have some autocannons as this is a role my oblis cannot fulfill. This would be good against flyers too.

Playing mostly Necromunda and Battletech, Malifaux is awesome too!

I'd either run lascannon, missile launcher or auto cannon if you need heavy support, otherwise I'd equip them with plasma guns.

To be honest we don't know how the new codex is going to affect them. Changes in points costs could decide what people want to use.

I have a quite large collection of them, but rarely fielded them in 5th edition. The demonic defiler and fearless obliterators were just so much more survivable.

Now though, with the Epidemus factor, mark of nurgle havocs with autocannons or even heavy bolters are looking quite intriguing. Even units 10 strong, because after that tally goes up, look out. They turn into a fairly powerful assault unit.

Where would be the best place to get autocannons?

I used the loyalist marine heavy bolter from the devastator kit, cut off the muzzle, and then extended it with the autocannon barrel from the IG heavy weapons teams for mine.

Chop off heavy bolter barrel. Extend with plasticard tubing. you can get some from here http://www.flamesofwar.com/gf9online_store.aspx?CategoryID=13169

I have a few Autocannon minis from way back when, but my Havocs I always for some reason go with Autocannon, Lascannon, Heavy Bolter and Missle Launcher...my Pred is outfited with all autocannons, but my Havocs, wich I stopped using a long ago in place of other things, I wanted to be a Swiss Army Knife.
Autocannon for Rhinos and could take down small groups of troops or large models, Heavy Bolters for Orks, IG, or to just shoot into Marines. Lascannon for Tanks and they still kill Marines dead, and Missle Launcher for tanks or frag for mobs.
Since i dont know what I will be fighting till I get to the table, I wanted to be ready for anything. And for the most part it worked. I had range that jsut Heavy Bolters would not give me, I had more firepower than more dice, and a means to fill any gap that came up.

Autocannons, even if they are as costly as a missile launcher from memory, two shots is always a better chance.

Almost always, I'd take a crack missle over AC vs a monstrous creature or character with 3+ save, especially if they are toughness 4.

Lascannons.

Mostly because that's what I have the models for, but also for when you absolutely have to make sure that tank over there dies.

Depends what I need/want more of in my army. My khorne havoc squads have lascannon, autocannon and missile launchers in them. Usually 1, 1 and 2. Leaves plenty of variety. My slaaneshi havocs have autocannon and heavy bolters. One of my nurgle havoc squads has 4 plasma guns. That 4 plasma gun squad is nasty when all 8 shots hit, but also pretty funny when I roll *at least* 4 1s on the attack dice and they all kill themselves. I almost always use havocs in my CSM armies.

That actually sounds like a pretty cool conversion. I have some of the old autocannon havocs and also converted a bunch of mine to use old Titan Legions titan autocannon. Worked pretty well. I would generally say, though, that the IG heavy weapon sprues are a great source for autocannon parts.

I've a havoc squad that has nothing but flamers in it, I have no clue why but fielding it is a lot of fun.

I'm hoping the new codex wll expand the list of heavy weapons that Chaos Havocs can field. I have a good number of old models with multi-meltas and heavy plasma guns (or conversion beamers, which look similar enough). It's no problem at all to just tell my opponent "these models with multi-meltas actually have lascannons", but I would prefer the option to field the correct models.
