Sorry for the bad lighting, I live in an apt. & was using the laptop's built-in camera to take the snap shot of the model. Yes I know there were a couple of spots I missed/didn't do:

Difficult to say on such a bad photo.
It looks flat, very flat. The writing is the same colour as the rest of the model.

It looks like there's been no highlighting not even a wash. Things have just been painted a colour and that's it.

Okay, I said: a. that yes I DI miss a few spots. (case in point writing), b. had poor dinning room window lighting

Anyway I DID use a wash on it of Badab Black

No highlights? Go outside to take a photo?
Just a wash isn't a miracle cure, well not for GK or any SM army.

I only used the paints/washes/foundations I had on hand as they were part of the deal from the guy of the GK army I bought.., I don't expect to ever enter the stuff in painting contests as I do not live near a GW (the closest one is an hour away by train) & I do not drive :/. I'll live with how it turned out

Dude, when taking photos you need the light behind you. So pop your model on a table or something, and then have the light behind you from your window. That will get a better picture for a start.

On G.K I've found using a black ink gets on the gold plate writing and makes the writing stand out, loads better than wash for doing that little trick.

Highlighting you should be ok with runefang silver, which I think is old mithril silver. Some blood red would look ace on your weaponry.

I think it's turned out okay from what I can see. The major areas are neatly done and in the right colour.

The spots with the writing I didn't although I may still touch up those spots, the pyscannon I hadn't touched either :(. I may get to them eventually. but am not worried @ this time about finishing it as I am in no hurry...

If you do those simple things, mate, then it will look loads better. I used to do the same with painting, just paint the model neatly and then wash and that was it. I've only just started highlighting, it really is worth the time and effort, especially how much you spend on a model ££ wise.

All I can see in that picture is a grey blob of pixels with some gold on it. Like others have said, at least shine some light on to the model to take a picture. Also, put the actual photo of the model in the thread, not the link.

The other thing I will say is that this does not belong in the Showcase. Not because it isn't "pro quality" but because it is incomplete. Under your own admission, lots of things are not painted, it is not completely done, and the model has no basing. Finish painting it, give it a proper base, then take a picture of it for everyone to see.

I think that if you put a grey coat under the silver it will go on better, and as always remember to thin the paints so you don't get build up. Good first try!

I had primed the model in chaos black while it was still on th sprues and after putting it together just went over and touched all the spots the black missed then added the boltgun metal
