I have a couple of friends who might want to try out Dark Heresy with me and my wife, is there any sort of GUI or program we could use (along with probably skype) to play? Something that could handle dice rolls, character position, etc.

I know there is Vassal, but I think that needs specially coded modules for it, and I couldn't find Dark Heresy or anything. Although that might be quite a pain to try and get set up on their systems; something simple would be best.

I've spent the past year running a D&D campaign using a program called MapTool.

Available here:http://www.rptools.net/index.php?page=downloads

It took a bit off effort to get everyone properly set up, but there haven't been any issues since the first session.

There's also a great community in the forums there that produce all kinds of useful tile sets and will offer assistance if you need it.

I'm just talkin' about Megaweapon.

The easiest one to use is roll20.net.

It runs everything in a webbrowser app. Its still in beta (And completely free) and has a couple of small nagging issues, but all in all, I think its great compared to the clunky stuff that came before it.

As the lads have said, RPtools and roll20 are the two best ones I've seen. Roll20 has the advantage that you don't have to fool around with any network stuff to get it to work.
