Soo I love my Ultramarine Sternguard and honestly think they are one of the best units in the game but am always on the lookout for ways to make them that much better I know this is probably shaky ground and I may be pushing it but can you use the special ammunition with a Stormbolter? The special ammunition says any model with a bolgun is equipped with special ammunition and the profile description for a Storm Bolter states that it is basicly two Boltguns side by side which is represented by it''s almost identicle profile to the regular bolter except for the two shots fired. Looking for clarification here there is nothing in the FAQ about this so I am kind of polling as many people as I can, thanks.

Nope, special ammo only works with bolters and the bolter part of a combi-weapon, as a Storm Bolter is not a Bolter. Fluff-wise it is, but not rules-wise.

However with the new rapid fire you take two shots at full range anyway, provided you don't move. So works out about the same as if you could use it with a stormbolter. Not sure it works on all of the ammunition though, but stuff like the hellfire it should.

No. No you can't. Single shot at max range, 2 shots at rapid fire.
As for the question, only bolters and combi-bolters. Maybe in the next book they will allow for stormbolters to fire the shot.

Rapid fire has changed, but not like that. First off, you can now move and still choose either 2 shots at rapid fire or 1 shot at full range. Second, rapid fire is not a set range in itself any more, it is just half the range of the weapon. So Tau pulse rifles can be fired once at 30" or twice at 15", regardless of whether or not the unit moved.
