Having come into a small amount of money from the sale of my gamers edition (and a tax rebate) I decided to add a small amount of deathwing to my Dark Angel successor chapter. I decided that the first step would be to create a Belial model that I felt did justice to just how Rock Hard the guy is supposed to be. In order to get the parts I wanted I had to order a stupid amount of excess bits just to end up with a model I was happy with. Any way, he's assembled very basically for now, and I will be looking to add detail if appropriate in the coming days.

I have a set of lightening claws (and the initial one that came with the base model) that I can magnetise to switch out, main reason for building him this way to start was for the AP 2 Thunder hammer. I thought lightening claws fell into the AP3 category now so the hammer time seemed appropriate.

Wasn't sure if the lack of robes made it questionable who he was or not.

I am very impressed! I enjoy the pose a lot!

Expensive for what it is but the hammer and shield fitted what I had in mind.

Wow, I love the Lugft Huron model you are using as the base for this guy..It's probably one of the best scults that FW has put out next to Tyberos or the MK IV command guys.

My one and only criticism, is that the banner seems a bit weedy in comparison to Belial..

Very nice. I was working on a Deathwing counts-as army a couple months ago (its become a back shelf project) and was considering using the Huron mini as a base for my Belial counts-as, it seems to fit what you would picture Belials armor to be.

Cheers guys, the Huron base model was one of the two I had been debating, the second being the termi with heresy era shoulderpads (cant remember his name). In the end the ornate style of the Huron model won out, I had debated using one of his lion head shoulder pads as a token of tribute to the fallen lion (Lionel) but I may just feature them as ornaments on either a tank or dread in a later conversion.

As a side note, once again flawless quality from Forgeworld in all three kits used to make this guy, love the detail of the kit, ease of conversion and lightness of the model.

I had debated whether to use the standard deathwing colour scheme for Belial as a feature in my own custom DA successor (Angels Infernus) but in the end for the sake of continuity he gained my own colour scheme that seems to have gone quite well. Obviously still a WIP and looking a little bit like a GK at this stage I think he's coming together quite well:

Looks very nice, I wouldn't say he looks like a Grey Knight any more than other silver Space Marines do. I think how you do the hammer and shield will be pivotal for that. Very impressive work there.
