Hello, and welcome, to this thread. Here, you can list/talk about your pet hates.

All of us have at least one, and most of us have several. I think it would be interesting to see the kinds of pet hates people here on dakka have.

I'll start:

After spending a few hours writing then re-writing an army list for 40k, trying to get the most tactically flexible army possible, and then spending a good half-hour or so setting up the game and deploying (Not to mention the task of building/painting an army), one of my pet hates is when the dice gods turn against you. After spending so much time getting the army together, only to have a rediculously large number of 2+ armour saves fail is really rather annoying.
For example, I would have an army of space marines in my 40k army, and some of them would be terminators. These terminator are the elite of the elite, wearing nigh-indestructible armour. The last battle I fought with them, I failed ALL of their 2+ armour saves in a single shooting phase. Against orks. That really shouldn't have happened.

Actually having someone trying to shoot me. It gets real personnel then. Afterwards and 5 cigs later making sure the shooter (if still alive) gets some water to swallow the aspirin down, ensure the bandages are secure, and drive on with the mission. Ignoring the occasional moans I might hear as I dry out my pants that I dropped hot coffee on

I feel this should be called the first world problems thread.

LOL well Heck let me make a list on things I hate on deployment.

1. Eating Spaghetti and towards the end notice I ate the bottom of the cardbord plate to.
2. Trying to have quality time in a port a potty in 130 degree heat
3. Running out of smokes
4. Running out of ammo (it happens because idioits want to keep playing with us)
5. Water ration. Matty will attest...you can bath yourself with one bottle of water
6. Having a smoke but no lighter...
7. Poo Pond of Kandahar
8. Contractors
9. IED's
10. Body searches
11. 2nd guessing yourself when you call in an airstrike and hoping you didn't give your grid out instead of the insurgents location
12. Fridays...yes fridays...steak and shrimp night..where they boil the steak and bake the shrimp to dust...oh since we know its steak and shrimp night the enemy knows it steak and shrimp night...rocket attack
13. Walking into a minefield
14. French reg. army but not the Foriegn Legion (those guys are batgak crazy)
15. Sand dust
16. Camelspiders
17. Velcro
18. Culverts
19. Being lead vehicle
20. Idioit in the gun turret on his MP3 player (personnel best on a tour is 16 earphone wire cut)

When I am getting off an elevator and someone rushes in without looking and either runs into me or makes me wait to get off. WAIT UNTIL PEOPLE GET OFF THE FETHING ELEVATOR TO GET IN!!!! It makes me very angry, I wait until everyone is out of the elevator, it is common courtesy, the elevator rushers need to be euthenized!!!

People who rush you (trying to board as you try to alight) when you are holding a steaming cup of VERY HOT COFFEE in your hands.

Guess what, folks? I'm NOT going to be the one wearing the coffee. My reaction is to thrust the hot stuff as far from me as I can whilst simultaneously twisting aside to avoid any splash.

Otherwise, people who stand immediately behind me when I'm getting coffee (Get the feth off my bootheels, you leech) only for me to step into them as I take a step back from the counter with my hot cup o' joe (which allows me some clear space to move without also splashing someone else in the face with it).

That pissed me off as well. Not so much the drinking or the smoking, but the "HEY GUYS, REMEMBER LAST NIGHT WHEN WE WERE DRUNK!" So that everyone and their mother's heard it....

To be fair, alot of the people who go out drinking in america before (And honestly, for some time after) being legal are fething stupid to the point of..... stupidness.

1. Buddy next to me shooting on my left. Then the extreme burning sensation on my neck from a hot brass
2. Trying to kick in a door 3 times, then having the same door laugh at the ram, then having my specialist open the door outward
3. Finance screwing my pay up
4. Divorce paperwork arriving in the mail
5. Someone walking away with my Zebra pen
6.Rocks...I so hate rocks....always have one waiting to trip you
7. A sniper that knows what he is doing
8. Low rank Female flirting with me (after recieving divorce paperwork)
9. Getting extended in a combat zone
10. Coming up short on a frag count
11. One of my soldier leaving his weapon behind at the FoB on a convoy. I made his squad hate me. All them filling sandbags for 2 weeks on down cycle
12. Liver....what asshat put liver on the menu
13. Being called "Sarge"
14. Small sterofoam cups...seriously who cannot hate them
15. A thief within the unit
16. Unclean weapons
17. Ripping the crotch out my pants (I go commando)
18. When the dining facility get the cheap arse plasticware
19. Another soldier getting divorce paperwork in the mail (Not good when you get one yourself)
20. Getting the wrong fill in the radio
21. Someone taking a bath in the water buffalo
22. Someone taking a crap in the water buffalo (it happen once only once. Little bastard is still alive)
23. Negligent discharge PERIOD
24. Coffeemaker goes down
25. Hearing a 2nd Lt. say "We need to actually try it this way"

Things I hate? Where to start?

People who drive slow in the fast lane or carpool lane.
People who make a right/left turn from as far across the lane as possible, usually without signaling.
Anyone who's ever made a duck face in a pic.
My mother, for more reasons than I care to count.
Political correctness. Why can't people just accept the truth even when it's harsh?
Country music.
Any "musician" who doesn't actually write anything involved in music. Britney Spears esque people or "boy bands". They are performers, not musicians, not bands.
Crappy dubstep made by 12 year olds on Garage Band.
Unaccountable government spending.
Politicians who don't understand what "budget" means.
Invasion of personal property by local government(restrictions on how your house looks when you don't have an HOA, and when there are no threats to safety or health)

The "war on drugs". a large % of people in prison are there for marijuana related crimes, almost all of which are victimless crimes like possession.
