Hey everybody! Since I've been dormant for a little while (painting wise) I've been diving back into it to get my skills back up to par. Every week I'm trying something different. One week its painting green, the next wet blending. Its all about testing your skills and reaching out of your comfort zone. This week ( for me) is all about speed painting. So I'm challenging anyone who reads this post to try it out. 60 minutes from start to finish, not including drying times, or priming. Depending on the responses ill try my hardest to make it a weekly attraction to test my skills and yours! Thanks!!! And stay classy dakka.

I would take you up on it, but I'm approximately 16,000km from my painting desk at the moment

Speed painting is the only painting I do these days, as I don't have the time to spend lots of time on every model. If you go through my gallery...

Imperial Guard, 36 minutes average (not including base)
http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/385440-.html?m=2

Space Wolf, 60 minutes (not including base)
http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/385766-.html?m=2

Hormagaunts, around 40 minutes average.

Necron, about 25 minutes (not including drying times).
http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/389629-.html?m=2

Over on my thread at Lustria Online, pretty much all of those were speed painted, the Night Goblins were 20 minutes each at the bottom of the first page, the skinks about 21 minutes each, I think the Saurus were about 40 minutes.

Most my painting I have a stop watch next to me so I can see where I'm wasting time and whether it's realistic for me to try and build a whole army or just a pipe dream.
