its a good tut, but the overall quality of you video could be improved by filming it at a table instead of a sheet on your lap

I like it. Short video, cheap, and something that wont hurt my wallet considerably. Very nice!

Typical wool, in my experience, doesn't last very long in terms of wear and tear for tabletop use. Have you tried using steel wool instead?

Typical wool in my experience is VERY durable when properly prepped.

When sprayed with a spray paint it causes it to adhere to itself and keep the shape of the plume that you have formed it in yet is still flexible, etc.

I have scores of such plumes and they have lasted years.

Interesting. I'm thinking different kinds of wools interact very differently - the ones I sprayed collapsed in on themselves and didn't hold their shape. Then paint started flaking and snapping off, etc. I tried spraying at various amounts too, lots of experimentation (I was trying to make Raptor jump pack exhaust =[ ) Did you do anything else to prep it besides priming with spray?

Not too shabby. Get yourself a desk asap.

Looks pretty decent, gave me something to tinker with. I'll probably not use cotton balls (I'll figure out an alternative later when I'm on the edge of sleep or something) but otherwise the effects look pretty good.

I'd probably glue the whole thing down to a CD (push-button over the hole) but just for the appropriate size marking on the board.

Why is it that only those who have never fought in a battle are so eager to be in one?
