Hello all. This is my first post on DAKKA DAKKA. I've been working on this army for a few years. I keep bouncing back and forth from painting these, Tau, and CSM. Some of these pics are old but I would still like to get every one's opinion on the models.

First up is a unit of bloodletters I painted up quite some time ago. This was before I started using GW paints.

This was also when drybrushing was all I knew...lol

Next is a bloodcrusher. Here is when I started using gw paints...and stopped drybrushing everything.

I still have 2 more to paint and Skulltaker to convert to ride a Jugg. Any and all constructive criticism is welcome. I will post more later.

Hi there,

The bloodletters are looking good, doesn't look like you've just dry brushed them at all.

A few tips though, the bone/horn/nails look to white, I started with a brown base coat, 1:1 Rotting Flesh + Bleached bone and a Bleached Bone highlight. Finish with a wash of Devlan Mud (sorry these are the 'Old' GW paint names, I don't know what the new equivalents are, if you're using the 'new paints that is.)

The gold/bronze on the jugg look a little flat but that might be because of the pics.

Hope that helps.

Keep it up and keep posting!

This bunch of models is what I have been working on recently.

First is the first pink horror model I have painted. I used the newest citadel paints on it.

Next is a unit of Plaguebearers that I just did a few weeks ago.

I bought these on ebay, so I got a few dupllicates. I wanted an icon bearer so I used some extra bits I had lying around.

This Plague is my favorite. I really liked the way it turned out.

And the most recent thing I've been working on is my Khorne theme Soul Grinder. This guy took so long to paint! And I;m still not done yet...

Please let me know what you think!

Thank you very much! I'm def gonna redo the horn/nails. They do look a tad too white. As for the bronze on the Crusher, it is a little flat on the actual model. I may have used too much devlin mud. Any suggestions on how to make it look better? After I finish the 3 Flamers I'm working on I want to paint up the other 2 Crushers.

Hi again,

I forgot to mention the swords of the bloodletters look great, I was reminded after seeing the kick-ass weapon on the soul grinder!

Judging from the grinder the horrors and plague bearers your painting has definitely improved since the bloodletters.

As for bronze, I would maybe try 1:1scorched earth & dwarf bronze, dry brush dwarf bronze, highlight with silver. Is that a verdigris effect you've tried on the Soulgrinder? (waterered down Hawk Turquoise, is ideal for this) - this effect might also be applicable to the jugg(?).

Wow. Thanks man! Yeah the bloodletters were done quite some time ago compared to the Horror/Plagues/Grinder. My friends also commented on the grinders weapon. I didn't like it at first, but now it's growing on me. As for the patina on the grinder, I didn't water down the hawk turquoise enough. I have since washed it with devlin and it looks much better. Once I finish the model I'll post a new pic of it. As for the bronze, that is exactly how I did it....plus too many coats of devlin. Next time I won't go so heavy with the wash!

Hey guys, I finished these up last night. My camera died while I was taking pictures, so I only have one for now. I will post more later.

So...that's it for now. As always please comment. Leave constructive criticism, tell me you hate/love the models. Just leave me some feedback so I can try to get better!

Thanks! -Grim

Doing something, anything, with the bases will really make the models look much better overall.

Some nice Daemons in here, all painted very well. I especially like the Pink Horror, I think you've got that spot on.

Finished another Bloodcrusher. I like this one much more than my older one. I put in a comparison pic. Let me know what you think and what I could do to make it better.

Wow. The new Bloodcrusher looks great!

The sword looks a little plain in comparison to what you did with some of the bloodletters swords though. Otherwise it really does look spot on.

Thank you very much. I'm not sure what I want to do to the sword yet. I was thinking of doing tamiya clear red on it and do some blood drops hanging on it.

In terms of the sword, I personally like the what you did with the bloodletter furthest on the left on your first picture.
