Working off of a friends original design here http://salmondworks.com/blog/hobby-terrain-infinity-silos-under-construction/
I built up this prototype for what will be my abandoned factory board. More pics and such here. http://scottysworkshop.blogspot.com/2012/07/industrial-silos.html

Thanks for having a look.

I like it. Nice weathering! The hazard sign could be a bit more crisp iand a model or something to show scale would help too but I like the colors and the weathering using a muted color over a bright one.

Looks amazing. If the rest of your board turns out as a impressive as that then your board will look unbelievably good! Look forward to seeing this progress. What did you do for the rust?

Personally, I find the rust a tad flat - a little more texture and/or color variation would improve the look, in terms of both realism and visual interest. The peeling paint effect, though, along with the more common chipping, is awesome. Did you use a more rubbery latex-based paint for the topcoat or was it just a byproduct of your particular chipping method? I do somewhat agree with blog comment about the drinking straw, but I think the overall effect is quite good.

These are great - any chance of a painting tutorial on the weathered green/patchy effect. I'm planning an industrial board in the future and I'm not sure how to start painting it yet...!
