That's what I'm thinking of taking to an 1850 tournament in the near future. Using the 2 HQs to "abuse" Look Out, Sir! on the Warriors/Shrikes, Termagants to grab a backfield objective and the Hormies to throw a bajillion attacks into whatever I send them against.

I might have issues with AV14 but there aren't too many armies that can spam them in massive numbers (not in tournaments anyway), the Parasite can pen (depending on rolls) and I don't have to trade in the Doom's blast.

I first thought about a Nidzilla build, but I don't have the models ready and likely won't in time.
I might be called a heathen for not taking any Hive Guard but with the ease of glancing transports to death I figured all the Ymgarls would work for that.

Parasite is itself only a T4 model, so those shrikes with T4 and multi-wounds are instant death fodder for anyone wielding a large number of missiles. I have only managed to get shrikes to be even remotely effective if running in behind a large gargoyle screen. Not sure I'd bother with the adrenal glands on the shrikes either unless you're running them with rending claws with a view to opening transports.

Warriors have the same problems as the shrikes, but are slow to boot. I wouldn't bother personally. For the cost of those you can run a tervigon or drop the prime as well and run a flyrant.

A multiple dread list is going to cause you massive problems, as would a landraider or two. You do need to have at least one MC in the list for this purpose.

One of our greatest strength is Monstrous creatures. Please use them.
Hormies are less effective with the changes to fleet.
18x Ymgarl is overkill
Parasite isnt so useful
Shrikes are very fragile.
I personally have a lot of problems with this list.

prime with 3xwarriors deathspitters and a venom cannon.
3x hive guard
doom in pod
10 ymgarl (or can you only have 9? cant remember)
2x30 temaguants with a tervigon AG, TS, Regen
2x trygon regen

Should be about right. Termies and tevi are your mian force. elites mess opponets plan up. trygons cause serious damage. prime and warriors behind trygons for synapse. not that they need it

This list isn't balanced. You need to pray that you don't go up against a necron scythe list (or any list with flyers). Unfortunately, assault nids may be fun, but they are a dying breed in competitive play. In 6E, if you can't handle flyers, then you won't advance very far in tournament play (assuming, of course, that you care).

I'd try to work out some shooting in there in you can. Swapping out 1 unit of ymgarls will be a good start. Also, 3 of your 4 troops are offensive-oriented. Their job is to advance and go after the enemy. Then who is going to take objectives? Consider swapping out one of the HQ's for a troop tervigon.
