Well, i just started to play this crazy awesome game a month ago or so. Im building my necron force, bought the battleforce and other stuff.

In my local store there's gonna be a free tournament with the 5th ed rules of 1500 points per army, and i would REALLY appreciate your suggestions and ideas for my army.

Heres what i got:

HQ
x2 Necron Overlords

Troops
x20 Necron Warriors
(x10 Immortals, though i havent build these ones yet, i still can't decide for Deathmarks or Immortals )

Dedicated Transports
x1 CCB
(not sure if is best to use the Anihilation Barge instead )
x1 Ghost Ark
(Same problem, i dont if i should make Ghost Ark or Doomsday )

Elites
x5 Lychguards w/ Swords and Shields

Fast Attack
x3 Canoptek Wraiths w/ Whip coils
x6 Canoptek Scarabs

Heavy Support
(The same problem in the dedicated transport section, i dont know what should i build )

Yes i know it sounds like "Hey DakkaDakka how about if you make me an army?" but seriously i would appreciate a lot your thoughts and opinions for the models (pros, cons)

I only have played WH40k two times, both 500 points each, so i really feel kinda lost with all this possibilities.

Thanks a lot!

Forgot to say: I will be fighting Tyranids, GK and Space Marines basically. Not too much variety in my store

One quick question: how much of the stuff is still unassembled?

Immortals over Deathmarks, personal choice. i use immortals more consistently.

Personally CCB over A.barge however, ive not played any games with new rules so i don't know if its been made worse or not.

For heavy support your only likely to use A.barge in small games or Doom scythes in bigger games

Make the ghost ark. Rapid fire out of a A13 tank that can replace fallen models is awesome. the doomsday ark is a little vulnerable with its need to stay still.

Hope this helps.

As far as your list goes, take one lord in a barge, and make use of the royal court.
stick 5 warriors in a ghost ark and 15 outside. (maybe with a Orblord, or a nice cryptek)
10x immortals with a Veiltek works well.
not a fan of L.guard, but they are a decent CC unit.
Wraiths are your best CC unit, only one needs to take a whip coil though, id take one for every 3 in the unit. Bolster thier numbers if possible.
Scarabs are pretty useful still.
Heavy support... nothing stands out to me. Barges work okay but id find a points for a doom scythe.

If you haven't built the warriors yet, make both immortals AND deathmarks by using warrior legs and chests on the immortal backs.

Alternatively, make 10 immortals using immortal legs and chests, then make 5 deathmarks with warrior legs and chests, then make 5 crytpeks using the remaining deathmark heads, warrior legs and chests.

The AB and CCB are easily interchangeable, just put the overlord on a base rather than gluing him in. The destructor and the barge console just swap out.

Pretty sound advice from MarkCron. If you are using 5th Ed rules (why?) I would take a Monolith in HS, but that's just a personal prefference to an AV14 Lump.

I would also recommend a Triarch Stalker. Statistics/Mathhammer wise it was the best Necron Tank Popper at under 12" in 5th.

Just my two cents

Immortals/Deathmarks, Ghost Ark/Doomsday Cannon, Lychguards.

God! i just assembled the warriors like 2 days ago, never though of that awesome idea, thanks a lot, i will definetly do that with bitz or other warriors!

The lychguard box is a gold mine of bitz for making crypteks or lords. So, decide whether you want Lychguard or Praetorians (note that in 6thEd, Praetorians got a boost with Hammer of Wrath).

If you decide to make lychguard, rip some of the heads off your warriors, then put praetorian heads (or deathmark heads, whichever you have left over) on them, then add more bits to make them look techy. You'll also probably want to rip the arms off as well.

If you want ideas, check out my profile - I have some pics of my Cryptek conversions.

What I've done is built Sword&Board Guard, then Deathmarks w/ RoC for Crypteks. They look pretty good, although I have like £40 worth of sprues with Praetorian+Immortal/Deathmark bits still stuck on them

haha, just a newbie question, you can play in tournaments with converted minis? (praetors used as crypteks etc.)

Aye, have done twice.

The only thing Praeto about the Teks is the staff, the rest is deathmark (which looks pretty much identicle to a Tek without a tail.) I just wasn't paying £50 for five when I had a chance to pay £45 for five + Lychguards & a load of bits

and about the Deathmarks or Immortals, would you choose immortals if you dont have the option to have a despair cryptek?

That's your choice. Ive never actually tried either myself, but the theory is to drop them where ever and wreck face.

Personaly I'd use Vargard Obyron over a despairtek now, due to being able to steamroller through an entire unit with the Immortals/Deathmarks in tow.
