was is a good colour that will highlight Mephiston Red well and make it pop. I tried Blood Red but it is basically the same colour.
Any ideas??

The GW site has a section of 'painting guides' (read colour bundles rather than guide)

They would suggest for the GW Blood Angels colours, you base with Mephistion, layer with Evil Sunz Scarlet and Wild Rider Red, Wash with Carroburg Crimson, Drybrush with Kindleflame and glaze with Bloodletter.

I use a mix of Blood Red+Blazing Orange, then Blazing Orange+Vomit Brown. Then a Baal Red wash to blend it together.

Rightio, thanks for that. My original plan was to do a 50/50 mix of Blood Red and Blazing Orange.
