Ok, what I want to know is what could you convert from a High Elves army into Dark Eldar? For example, I think Swordmasters with an appropriate amount of conversion and a good paint scheme would make good Incubi. What would you suggest, and what would you accept in a game as counts as? Thanks in advance.

wow that's a tricky one :3
like you said, sword master would work as incubi, as would white lions. archers given splinter weapons would make for good warriors and you could maybe have spearmen as wychs at a push. wracks I have no idea at all
dragons with some armour plates and dark lances would work fine for ravagers/fighters/bombers. maybe a gryphon for a talos :?
raiders? I have no clue on those, maybe large flying chariots pulled by a gryphon/eagles. stick a bolt thrower at the prow to act as a dark lance
any of their mounted units would work for bikes, as for scorges you would want some kind of bird man I guess or eagel rider
hope that helps

The biggest problem, IMO, of converting from Fantasy to 40k is Fantasy models are much less dynamic so that they can rank up alongside each other. Swordmasters, ironically, are probably the worst. The only plastic ones (if I remember right) are from the Island of Blood set. They're a one piece model with their sword RIGHT up next to the body. Hard to cut and change anything from them...
That and High Elves have a LOT of cloth and robes, which, again IMO, is not very Dark Eldary. They need skintight, spiky and leathery. Dark Elves have some good things there, but High Elves? Too pretty and elegant. Though Dragons as Raiders might be fun. XD I am a bit intrigued by a "animals ridden counts as for vehicles" for a while. Might do that with some Squiggoth "Battlewagons" for the Orks.
If you DO try it, would love to see pics? If you can find a style that fits with those robes and glinting metal, then I'd love to see it.

Well, I've had a couple of ideas, and a few replies in another thread (thought it was dead, so I made this one). Right now I'm looking at swordmasters for Incubi (IoB version, not a massive amount of work, just a good paint scheme.) Griffon for a Talos is an interesting idea, Not sure how I would go about that but I will put some thought into it. I'm trying the IoB Ellyrian Reavers as, surprise surprise, reaver jetbikes. Most of the work will be in the colour scheme, but I will post pics if they are worth posting. They'll be going alongside some of the new DE models and some conversions from other sets.
