Almost everyone uses that pink foam for terrain building, but by the life of me I cannot find any place in the region of Newcastle, NSW that sells this foam. Are there any aussie's here that can help me find this stuff in my local area, or at least within Aus. I have some great terrain ideas but don't have the materials to build them, and this foam looks perfect for the job.

Also can you guys give me some infomation on it, like its technical name, prices and such. I know there is something about closed cells with foam or something like that and that it comes in blue as well

The pink foam is Owens Corning Extruded Styrofoam (polystyrene foam) Insulation. Blue will be Dow. Yellow will be Certifoam.

I think we got the Pink stuff from a company called Austech a few years back to use as sound deadening material for an equipment location.

Most of your construction related lumber yards should stock it. It is pretty standard now under slab foundations worldwide as well as used for insulating exteriors of existing structures with the whole "Save a Polar Bear" movement.

you can buy it from Back-2- Basics as well in Aus, but you do pay more than what you'd pay if you found some at a build site etc. but if you're in a pinch and you don't need heaps just search extruded polysyrene on ebay.
