...no, it's not a Batman pun. With that settled - allow me to present my first ever serious attempt at OSL!
Lighting's a bit off where I've only got a small lamp and it's much bigger than things I'd usually take photos of, but here we go...

Great paint job. Although in its totality its very bright. I think it would be easier to produce the light effect when the parts where the light touches are closer by (not all the way to the ground).

Life is like a box of chocolates. A cheap, thoughtless and perfunctory gift nobody ever asked for. Unreturnable because all you get back is another box of chocolates. So you're stuck with this undefinable whipped mint crap that you mindlessly wolf down because there's nothing left to drink. Sure once in a while there's a peanut butter cup or a English toffee, but they're gone too fast and the taste is fleeting. So you end up with nothing but broken bits of hardened jelly and teeth shattering nuts. If you're desperate enough to eat those all you've got left is a. An empty box, filled with useless brown paper wrappers. |

I think it's a wonderful effort, very nicely done. The only problem I have is that there is no "point" to it. It just looks like a bunch of dudes firing storm bolters. What are they shooting at? Are they being overwhelmed and falling back or advancing into the fray?
Again, I think it looks wonderful and the OSL is nicely done. However, when making a diorama, atmosphere is the key ingredient... there has to be a sense of feeling attached to it. As it stands now, it is just a bunch of Grey Knights in more or less their standard pose, albeit well painted Grey Knights.

Thanks all. In hindsight the steps DO look a bit overdone, something to watch for next time round.

Originally I was going to have some Daemons advancing up the steps, but their height and the Grey Knights' posing didn't quite look right - they would have had to be tall Daemons fitting on that bottom step. Then I considered greenstuff tentacles and bits, but thought that was a little too ambiguous to have them shooting at "funky looking terrain". In the end I decided I liked what I had and didn't want to risk ruining it.
