Thunderhawk Pilot Dropping From Orbit

Since 6th edititon states that games 2000 points or above can take a second detachment, I thought this list up.
HQ- vulkan He'stan-190 points
Elites- 5 Dreadnoughts (2 MM, CCW) (3 TL-AC)- 585points
Troops- 4 Tactical Squads (1 PG, 3 MG, 4 MM)-625 points
Fast Attack-NONE-0 points
Heavy Support- 6 Thunder Fire Cannons-600 points
Total-2000 spot on
This list was designed around mass Thunderfire rounds. The 3 tactical squads footslog (to objectives if there are any) while mass cover fire comes from the AC dreads and the Cannons. All while the other two MM dreads, and a tactical squad with Vulkan protect the cannons and AC dreads from deepstrike. Each of these protection units should cover 2 cannons. If a dreadnought gets damaged one of the gunner tech marines can fix it.
Any thoughts?

Aside from the TFC, very short range. Ironically a drop-pod list will kick your ass haha!
Note that the presence of any blast template on the field would make a smart player spread his forces out. Consider this into your play. Sure the TFC is a powerful unit, but take in to account how your opponent reacts to it - that's how you'll make the most out of this list.
For instance, spreading out means less cover saves. Get sternguard! AP3 rounds!

If you want a sit back and shoot list then make room for some fortifications as well.

Yeah a defense line would make the AC dreads much more survivable.

Vulkan isn't adding much.
An ADL is probably needed for this gunline approach.
Sniper scouts are a great shooty troop choice, at least make sure you have Telion on the battlefield.
Razorback tactical squads would shootier.
Dreads with MM+ccw need a drop pod to get into the enemy, I wouldn't bother as it doesn't really suit your list.
I think you be fine against drop pod armies but only as you be good at turtling.
The question I have is at 2000 pts you have some mean armies now with double FoC, will a vanilla gunline conceptually or even theoretically do it.

Don't you need a second HQ? I thought double FOC doubled the mandatory units too. Ie 1 HQ 2 Troops per detachment.

3000pts 30 wins 2 draws 12 loses
5000pts 13 wins 1 draws 9 losses
WoC "where the points don't matter" 6 wins 0 draws 4 losses

Thats what I was thinking, but I think it says you MAY take units for a second detachment, so up to 6 fast, heavy, elites, 4 hq, 12 troops. Correct me if im wrong please.
Sniper scouts would be a better choice for troops if there were no objectives, as my plan with this list it to literally set up tents. Yes my oponenet will spread his units out, but that wont matter much against 24 strength 6 ap 4 blasts coming at them every turn.
I guess I could take the MM dreads out entirely, and add in a defense line or two. The Hydra quad gun would add some AA defense as I did not take flyers into account. I may still have some points to add a 5 man Sternguard squad.
Vulkan is there for the MM in the tactical squads and Dreads. But if I dont split the squads into combat squads and leave the MM back to shoot, Ill have to snap fire. Re-rolls are nice but theres a low chance of a hit.
He was also going to protect the AC dreads and Cannons from deepstrike with his heavy flamer. But I could lose 20-30 points on a Motf instead.
So heres a revised list:
Motf (CB, TH)
3 TL-AC dreads
5 Stern guard (3 CP, 2 PG)
Razorback (TL-PG/LC)
20 Sniper Scouts with telion and camo cloaks
6 Thunderfire cannons
2 Aegis defense lines (if I can fit them) (if not I'll add another sniper squad.)

My understanding is that IF you take the second FoC, you also need to take the mandatory stuff again.

I think that is correct. I'm gonna drop the fortifications for a captain with hellfire and combi plasma.
